A team would have to offer the player a contract would they make the claim, i assume. Then Pittsburgh would have to match that contract and promote him to the 53 man roster.

At least that's the way i understand it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they don't get to match it. They just run the risk of losing him by not having him on the roster.

Like Dre Moore of the Bucs last year. Something is radioactive. Looks like Moore cleaned up his tude and is ready to show the NFL his first round abilities this year. Whether Meredith will is up to him and the Pack.

It is what you don't know that kills you being an "armchair GM."

Haley is the coach. Pioli is the GM. Pioli scores talent. Haley coaches talent. Jamon Meredith has nothing to do with Haley.

Well, I can admit it would appear Meredith flopped so far.

I'm just curious as heck if Haley and Pioli got away with Darryl Harris to the PS. Peria Jerry is with ATL, and Oher is with Balt. Both of them know Harris. But both of them are also extremely stupid.

Some "know" what they see. They don't understand they don't see everything, and what they don't see can matter a lot to a HC, or in the locker room etc.

One of the PFW raps on Meredith was that he was a "locker room lawyer."

Wow.

WTF is that???

OK, you do need some fresh fodder though.

My "Chiefs Draft" in real time.

1. Monroe
2. Ron Brace
3. Edwin Williams (undrafted - made Redskins (so far))
4. Jamon Meredith (bust healthy cut as a Draft pick)
5. Brice McCain (should've won starter at CB for Texans - Dunta may be back though)
6. Myron Pryor (Pats thought so little of Pryor and Brace they did WHAT??)
7a. Darryl Harris
7b. Reshard Langford (cut by Eagles - big improvement over what is on Chief roster now assuming Mike Brown never gets it back from injuries)

FA - keep Babin, sign Kyle Boller

Don't let Mecca, Hamas or Milkman find this out. I can only imagine what strike number this would be.

I have been pretty open minded and not been negative towards the new staff in KC.

I haven't agreed with everything they've done, and expressed that opinion, but I never dwelled on it.

I hated the trade for Cassel.
They pissed me off when they use not only the first, but their second pick in the draft on DEs.
I hated that the only additions they made to the O-Line were a washed up veteran and RT that would never play RT in the NFL.
I hated the fact that they gave up draft picks for garbage O-Lineman that were gonna get cut when they could easily have claimed or signed better players after cuts.
And the fact that washed up vet, who has been absolute dog shit and has no fucking business playing this game anymore is beyond fucking stupid.

Overall I've just sitting back and watching and not being overly critical.

But they are really begining to piss me off.

And for the record, Pioli wasn't even the guy I was hoping Clark Hunt would hire.

Is John David Booty the next viking quarterback worth stealing from the practice squad? Can we just drop Thigpen and pick him up?

I dont know much about him, but he seems like he is more suited for out style of play than Thigpen... of course that assumes we wont end up having to go to the Gun most of our passing plays due to our pathetic pass blocking, in which case thigpen might as well stay on our team in case Cassel goes down and Brokey pulls his best impression of humpty dumpty.

Booty has less of an arm than Leinart and Leinart didn't fit Haley's offense. I doubt they would be interested. Booty needs to be in a WCO.
