If your team is in desperate need of a RB, I would be taking a hard look at him if he is available.

TAMPA - Cadillac Williams didn't learn of his place atop the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' running back depth chart from his coach. He heard it first from his mother.

"Yeah, she called me all excited and told me and I was like, 'Wow, where did you see that?' '' Williams said of his mother, Sherry, who lives in Alabama. "She said it was on the crawl on TV.

"I had a lot of people call and text me and I just said, 'I wasn't informed, guys, but I guess so. I can't confirm it.' ''

It's confirmed now. Williams, who is trying to bounce back from a second major knee injury, will start Sunday's season opener against the Cowboys.

The promotion comes as a bit of a surprise because of who else the Bucs have in their backfield. Returning starter Earnest Graham topped the depth chart during the preseason and Derrick Ward was obtained in free agency.

It's a crowded backfield, but the Bucs believe they can wear people down by rotating all three backs.

That Williams likely will get the ball first is a testament to his hard work in coming back from a second patellar tendon injury.

"Yeah, it was a surprise," Williams said of earning the top spot on the depth chart. "But I knew if I could come in here and show some of the old flash and compete, I was pretty comfortable with my chances.''

No doubt.

I am sure I was not the only one in the position where my two starting RB's might not combine for 1,200 yards together. lol

I picked him up as soon as I found out he is starting again.

Hope he can stay healthy. *crosses fingers*

This was known mid last week, so he should be gone in most leagues where people pay any attention. Better move fast.

My FF team is hoping that he gets injured and Earnest Graham can take the job.

This was not announced until this morning. Until today, Williams was listed as the 3rd RB on both espn's depth chart and on the Buc's website depth chart.

Either way... it was news to me.

Don't pick him up. That backfield situation is a complete mess, but they didn't pay Derrick Ward for nothing...

Perfect for me then... that is when Marshawn Lynch comes off suspension and can take over for Caddy.

:D

I just went to check, he is already taken in all 5 of my Fantasy Leagues.

I also realized that in my one autopick league, I drafted Brandon Marshall and Michael Crabtree.

At least you didn't end up with Pollard. I started drinking early and spaced out the draft :(

128 yards rushing and 1 TD was definitely a waste of my time

I started him and it paid off in spades

God! This guy is a miracle case. 2 blown knees and he's still coming back and playing hard. Not many stories beat this.

I picked him up in 2 drafts, late rounds. He was already projected as the starter, and after seeing him in preseason :thumb:

He surprised me.... I think it was a 1 time deal though. I want to see how Buffalo's run defense looks later on. Week 3 I think the Bucs will be 0-2 and the team will be completely deflated which will show up in lack of effort.
