Knee surgery.

Talk about bottoming out your draft stock by not coming out early.

That's going to be a big loss.

I never like to see players injured, but talk about a rough start to the season for OU. That should shut up the Boomer Sooners for a little while.

Two sure fire first round picks in Bradford and Gresham had they come out last draft, who knows how far they fall now...

Damn. Oklahoma is fucked.

I would assume Gresham can still go in the first round provided he's healthy and ready to workout before the draft..

But I doubt he goes as high as some were talking.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma Sooners tight end Jermaine Gresham will miss the rest of the season after having surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee.

Coach Bob Stoops said that doctors determined during an arthroscopic surgery Tuesday that they needed to stitch together the cartilage in Gresham's knee. Stoops said Gresham will need five months to recover.

The 13th-ranked Sooners are already reeling from the loss of Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Sam Bradford, who sprained his shoulder in a 14-13 loss to BYU and will be out at least two weeks.

Gresham was a second-team All-America pick last season and had been considered a top NFL prospect before returning for his junior year.

SO was this the famous injury karma we heard about recently?

I heard he bought a house in Overland Park.

Something like that would kill KU. To OU it's just a little scratch.

Sucks for Gresham.

Now that I got that out of the way... ROFL at OU

He's bought the house right next to Mike Shannahan.

I am going to have to disagree with it being just a scratch Skip. They lose their starting QB 2-4 weeks and the first round talent TE for the season. If they can win the games with Landry Whatever at QB until Bradford gets back, then maybe it is just a scratch.

Not trying to speak for skip here, but OU has had this problem before. Stoops seems pretty adept at getting his team to rally 'round then issue and keep moving forward.

If you get a first round grade, you just cannot risk going back. Hopefully he had a policy.

Entirely possible, Stoops is a great coach(big games excluded) and I am not a OU fan so I could be off base, but has he ever had to replace a QB of Bradford ability(college not pro)?

Bomar was a great prospect. He got whacked for taking cash and they still went on to win the Big XII title and lose to Boise on two of the most exciting plays of the decade in college football.

I'm not an OU fan either (KSU), but Stoops' teams have had similar issues and rebounded well.

The problem with those policies (and really just reinforcing your point) is they generally only pay out when you are injured to the point where you can't make an NFL roster.

I don't think Gresham has a policy. Bradford and McCoy do though. I don't know all the details but Bradford said the premiums are ridiculous. But they don't have to start paying them until they are on an NFL roster.

That's (unfortunately) good news for the draft prospects of Rob Gronkowski, probably the best TE in the country.

At least I don't have to hear about idiot KCers wanting to draft him at pick ten.

This means Texas and Oklahoma State will play for the division title October 31 in Stillwater. That should be a good game.

That's great for Chiefs fans. Now we won't have to be top 3 to select him.

9-7 and we'll still be cool.

OU plays Tulsa in two weeks. I wonder when was the last time TU had a real chance against OU?

I'm not counting OU out at all. One or two players don't faze them. They are deep at every position. Most good teams are.

Damn, hate to see that. Him and Bradford really probably hurt themselves staying that extra year.
