GB is on the road again tonight.
I'm headed down to Arkansas for a few days.
Tonight I'm headed down US 69 after work.
My question is this:
Dinnertime should find me around the Pittsburg, KS area. There are two famous chicken restaurants north of town, one block from each other.
Chicken Annie's and Chicken Mary.
Who should I do, Annie or Mary?
Anybody with any experience with these two ladies, please let me know who I should eat out. I mean that in the most positive way.
http://tinyurl.com/m9pg78
Thanks!
So pretty much you are goin down 69 to get some cock, but you want to know which lady you should perform cunnilingus on?
I'm confused.

Chicken Mary's is cleaner, they are actually the same chicken recipies.
The locals prefer Bartos Chicken, I prefer the Mall Deli or Jim's.
Here is an article discussing the different ones:

Annies used to be really good but haven't been there in quite awhile. There's a little place in Pitt. that might serve some food if you need a drink to go with it....it's called Pat's Lounge there in Pitt. might be worth checking out especially if you like the skankier looking females.....

If you can, swing through Frontenac and eat at Barto's Idle Hour. Order their two wishbone meal and a large order of onion rings. I think it trumps the hell out of Annie's or Mary's.

Barto's is the best IMO but with Mary's you get three sides instead of just two with Annie's.

My order of preference is...
Barto's
Chicken Mary's
Gebhardt's
Chicken Annie's Girard
Chicken Annie's Original
Pichler's Chicken Annie's (right on 69 at the south edge of town)
They are all good, and you get a lot for the money. I went to Mary's Tuesday night. It was very good.

Chicken Marys potato salad is a meal in its own, especially if you take some home and let it sit over night.

Neither. I have lived within 10 miles of both for most of my life and would rather have freaking KFC anytime. Overcooked, underseasoned boring chicken made for the bluehairs on the way to and from church. Yuk. German sides? Dip a baked potato in vinegar. The restaurants are dirty as hell, employees are nasty (worked at both annies and marys as a teen) I say again.. neither.

I'm going to go with Annie's if you're only considering the two in Yale. Pichler's on the south side of Pittsburg is not nearly as good. However, the Chicken Annie's east of Girard (northwest of Pittsburg) is actually the best, IMO.
I would also recommend Traditions (used to be Zach's, who was the son of Jack, who used to own the steakhouse and ballroom on north broadway) and Jim's, although Jim's is much more expensive. Both have good rings. Also, the Mall Deli is great for sandwiches.

Is Palucka's market still open? They had great Italian groceries and Frontenac bread. Oh, and the mafia types used to hang out in the back, IIRC.

Somehow I have a hard time believing the Costa Nostra is heavily involved in Southeast Kansas....

Not in Pittsburg, but there are in Frontenac. They had a big presence during prohibition and some have stuck around. They also used to send them there to retire.

IMO, the best food in town (Pittsburg)-- great selection, everything from Reuben sandwich to grilled salmon, and great price --- is Chatters. Near the corner of Rouse and Centennial across from the hospital. The Gorilla Burger is one of the areas best burgers. 2 huge patties cooked perfectly, 4 slices of cheese (your choosing) grilled mushrooms, onions and jalapenos (if you ask) and a freaking fried egg. It is a meal for a man...So good. Not to mention all kinds of beers on the bar side.

Also the fried veggies at 1106 are awesome, I worked at No Name Liquor for a while going to school there and they would deliver.

I used to really like the Lazy Hound (it was where Fat Daddy's is now). They had great food and were a microbrew. They had a few really good beers that they made right there in the restaurant. Nothing like drinking a beer on tap that had never left the building.

Well, I'm in my hotel room in Arkansas now watching Toledo kick Colorado's ass.
I found Bardo's and got there just before 6pm, which was good fortune, because about six families with about five kids each followed me in about two minutes later.
I had a 3-piece chicken (paid a buck extra for "wishbone chicken") cole slaw and onion rings.
The cole slaw was very weird. It was like cabbage drenched in italian dressing. Not terrible, I had a few bites. Onion rings were just OK. Hi Boys in Independence is much better.
Chicken was very weird. It was dipped in a coating like catfish meal coating, and the chicken pieces looked like these odd little bumpy lumps. Couldn't really identify what part of the chicken it was. It was juicy and tender and pretty good, extremely HOT when it first came out. Had to let it cool down a bit. Had two cans of Bud poured in an old school 7 oz pilsner glass. Meal and beer was about $16. Not bad.
Overall, it was about a 6 out of 10. Stroud's has nothing to worry about. I like going to little towns and trying out the fare. The people there were really nice. No polka band tonight though. Damn the bad luck!
Have to try Chicken Annie's next time.

Chicken Annies has your more traditional style fried chicken. The batter at Bartos is cornmeal, which is what is used on catfish.
