Yes, I'm aware that this should go to the Media forum, but no time right now.

I need a answer to a quick question. When there is a overview of a TV, or a specifications, how do I know the one is the best one, meaning, 1080i or 1080p?

And also, there's what they call a "scan format" and for example, it has a scan format of 720p and 1080i. What does that mean? Does it mean the tv can do in both formats?

Bigger numbers [of lines] = better, ie 1080>720
p [progressive] better than i [interlaced], refreshed twice as often.
Most all who can do the higher resolutions are capable of the lower as well.

ie, 1080p should do all resolutions [480i, 720i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p]
