The college rushing champion is swinging a hammer, interesting.

Think it is the family business (construction), but I could be wrong.

Former rushing champion. Nate Kmic, of Division III Mount Union College, is the NCAA rushing champ currently.

D3?

Doesnt count.

They play the teams like Davenpost School for the Deaf Dumb and Blind.

D1 or bust.

I might give a D2 player credit as long as his team was winning championships but otherwise its D1 or bust.

Shay was D2. So was Danny Woodhead of Chadron State College (currently with the Jets) who was the record holder until Kmic eclipsed him.

You got my curiosity up ... especially since he played at Paola and Emporia State. Saw an article where he played for the Orlando Rage in 2001. Then this:

http://www.republic-online.com/200907083924/people/weddings/fulk-shay.html

and the last pp:

The Shays own and operate BodyMaxx Fitness Center in Paola. He also works for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. The couple plan to reside and raise a family in Paola.

He married well ... a doctor's daughter!

Too bad he didn't get a fair shake, the kid had more heart than any player that had tried to be NFL player than I'd seen for a long time. I think he had the potential to be an Ed Podolak type player.

Yeah I always rooted for Brian to do well after he got outta high school. I had to play his ass every year. You want to talk about not wanting to tackle a guy...shit. Brian also did well with the chick he married. She's very nice and in high school was hot as hell and alot of fun to party with. She was a good girl, but some of her girl friends where wild as hell. Her dad is a really cool guy. Yeah Brian didn't make it in the NFL, but he has ended up being rich in life in all the ways that really matter.
