Tank Tyler held the line much better this game. I thought a lot of the early defensive success was in large part due to him plugging the line and getting into the backfield. I was very impressed with the majority of his game. He still had a few plays where he got beat pretty good, but I definitely saw improvement. Sadly, he managed to be the leading tackler yesterday... which is good for him, but bad for the rest of the D. I still have doubts as to whether he can be a legit NT, but if he continues to improve game to game like he did yesterday, he might win me over.

If only we had decent LBs....

It looked like Glen Dorsey was having a decent game yesterday too.

The day after a loss is no time to start looking for glimmers of hope or pointing out any improvements Fish, your liable to lose your posting priveleges.

I thought Tank and Dorsey both did some positive things. Last year Oakland ran up and down the field on us with the same sh!tty QB. Yesterday we limited their running game.

Tank Tyler is really picking up his game. I expected Dorsey to improve, but Tank was kind of a question mark. He'll be a mainstay on the D line for some time to come IMO. He's only going to keep getting better.

I think we really need help at linebacker, and that's starting to show more as the DL is improving modestly.

Preseason = the linebackers are looking good.

Regular Season = our linebackers are the worst in the league.

The defense played decent until the final drive when Clancy's butt puckered and he stopped blitzing.

I'm content (for now) with Tank. I think we could plug him in next season at NT and not be as neck-deep in feces as we are now. We definitely need to save our money and draft picks for more important positions.

If we can just get ONE thing right this season, I'd like to see that defensive line improve as a group into something special. They all have the potential to do so, certainly. Of course, that doesn't always equal success.

Most importantly on that 3rd and 15 where FatMarcus had all day and hit the receiver over the middle for 25 yds.

I wouldn't stop looking to improve the position, but Tank definitely played better.

But how many sacks did he have in the 4th quarter? - Demonpenz

Prevent defense only prevents winning.

The D-Line played well yesterday. The defensive scheme on the last drive was pathetic.

We had them deep in their own territory with 2nd and 10,3rd and 10, and 3rd and 15.

We didn't blitz them until they had marched down the field and we had our own endzone at our backs. :shake:

If we had just one successful blitz when they were in 3rd and long they would of never gotten on a roll and even made it into our territory.

Clancy got all "preventeee" on us and it hurt
