Yes and he's since been signed to the Buffalo Bills active squad

OT Michael Butterworth a name like that he would fit right in with our OL.

If Alex Boone is sober I would give him a look. Has an nfl body with a high school brain it seems.

LB Darry Beckwith
OT Alex Boone
LB Buster Davis
C A.Q. Shipley

Cut Beisel, Goff, Copper, Niswanger

I know Shipley has short arms....but anything is better than Niswanger. Move Ndukwe over to RG and let Boone battle it out with O'Callaghan for the RT position. Davis and Beckwith would be better than fucking Beisel any day.

Atlanta has one of the best OLines in the NFL and some of the best OL coaching.

LB Darry Beckwith

Purify did some good things at NU. He had good hands and solid body control. He played fast, but I don't know what kind of speed he brings to the table.

IIRC he got in trouble before the draft and fell. May be worth a look.

In addition to the OL help, Slade Norris (rush backer) and Zach Follet could help our LB corps.

I have not seen even a hint that Haley/Pioli are dissatisfied with Niswanger.

Boone and Radovich are on the 49ers. They'd be worth a look.
VanDesteeg was a high motor college guy and was one of the guys on the "why wasn't he invited to the combine" lists. Definitely worth a look since none of our OLBs can rush the passer.

Chase Daniel (hey whether u like him or hate him, he played well with Wash) and can scramble. Better than Guiterrez or Thigpen I would assume.

Alex Boone is a no brainer and dont know why we dont give him a look.

WR - Paul Williams and Maurice Purify, I liked him a lot in the draft a couple yrs back.

TE - Darius Hill, just because I played basketball with him and HS. I'm rootin for him.

I think the Chiefs should raid the Raiders' practice squad and pick up both Slade Norris, rushbacker, and Roy Schuening, G.

Did anyone watch Boone just get used by Orakpo in the bowl game?

And, yeah, Orakpo off the edge in the NFL so far has been

wide rush ... pushed past the QB
wide rush ... pushed past the QB
wide rush ... pushed past the QB
wide rush ... pushed past the QB
wide rush ... pushed past the QB

Boone sukks and is a head case. That's why. Boone was one of the most celebrated high school prospects ever. The NFL completely and totally knows who he is.

Just thank the truth of football and idiocy being one and the same that the NFL still has no clue who Darryl Harris is...

Boone shut down Orakpo that game. IIRC he got a sack late in the game when they lined him up on the opposite side of Boone.

My recollection of that game was Boone regularly getting beat off the snap and the Buckeye QB(s) needing to step up to avoid. At least one sack, perhaps two on specifically Boone by Orakpo. Boone has slow and heavy feet.

Your recollection differs from what most observed during and right after the game:

"“We want players who are big, strong, smart, fast, tough and disciplined,” Pioli said, finally bringing an end to the era of Chiefs executives who searched desperately for players who are small, weak, stupid, slow, fragile and unruly."

and then goes right out to LSU and grabs another DUMMY...

CHECK the LSU Wonderlic scores - they are SORRY.

The LSU at Vandy game in 2005 had "student athletes of the game" for each team. Vandy had star MLB Jon Goff, a mechanical engineering student. LSU had a THIRD STRING TE...

Color commentator Fred G. Sanford: "Third string TE? The LSU student athlete of the game is the third string TE? Well, all that means is that everyone on the LSU first string, and everyone on the LSU second string, was too much of a BIG DUMMY to qualify as a "student." I, I bet that's the only reason he's on the team, because sometimes LSU needs a student-athlete of the game..."
