I know...I know.

Why don't I just use the search function?

Screw that noise.....I believe in the gospel of Slack.

I am doing a driving tour through Tennessee that will take me to Nashville

and Memphis around dinner time.

I don't want to half ass this rib dinner in Memphis.....I want the BEST in town.

Hours of operation and directions would be very much appreciated.

Rep in advance

Rendezvous (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=rendezvous+near+memphis&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=32.38984,56.337891&ie=UTF8&cd=1&hq=rendezvous&hnear=Memphis,+TN&ll=35.148968,-90.050383&spn=0.016317,0.027509&z=15&iwloc=A) is supposed to be really good, but it's only open like 3 days a week (okay, not really... but they're closed Sunday and Monday).

Or maybe Corky's... Pig on Beale was good, too.

Haven't we talked about this before???
Corky's
Neely's
Interstate BBQ
The Rendevous

Or...
Come to KC and get some real BBQ....

Heh.

Actually, Memphis style is very good, just different from what we're used to here in KC. They do more pork and sausage, lots more brown sugar and liquid smoke.

LOL

Yes,It has been discussed b4....hence the OP.

Born and raised in KC...so I don't expect to be converted in Memphis.

I am debating on bringing a jar of Gate's hot sauce to pour all over those ribs just to see if I can get a reaction.

Interstate BBQ

Rendezvous is a tourist trap. Corky's I've heard is good at the original, but it's been expanded into multiple locations and hurt because of it.

Rendezvous for Ribs (tourist trap or not they still have the best ribs at normal prices), Interstate for pulled pork.

I haven't been to the original Corky's but the other locations are not very good.

Corky's is the best.
Rendezvous has the best rep.
The Commissary in Germantown is also very tasty.

Best BBQ is in KC. If you want great food, hit Gus's Fried chicken in Memphis! Best on the planet.

Rendezvous ribs would be a whole lot better with some Gates or Arthur Bryant's sauce slapped on them. Still darn good though.

the dry rubbed @ Corkys are pretty damned tasty, NO, nothing like KC, but very easy on the pallet, nicely seasoned, tender, etc. Their sauce is legit, it's basically Tennessee's version of 'Sticky Fingers' in Carolina. Which, Sticky Fingers is fair fare. I like their rib plate, and they actually offer a good sauce array, I like the Carolina Sweet, it's really a little like KC style believe it, or not. lol

This, and enjoy Tennessee. We did Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville, and Memphis.
