I was surprised to say the least. I have never heard of a dad being the best man. I told him it made me very happy that he would ask me but I told him he should really think it over. He was married in front of a justice of the peace before they deployed. They have planned the full blown wedding when they return his wife is a medic deployed in Iraq.

Quite an honor, IMO. It'd mean a lot to me, if I were in your shoes. You should do it without question.

Congrats.

You've obviously done a damn fine job. :toast:

Enjoy the moment. They don't get that good very often in this life.

Does he know you are a Raiders fan?

...I told him he should really think it over.

Why? I doubt he would ask if he hadn't already. A simple, "I'd be honored" should do.

Very cool bud. It sounds like he is doing well.

He is ready to put the Army behind him and is looking forward to starting a family. I am very happy for him. He had talked about re upping or doing contract security. I told him a while back war ain't no way to make a living. He has done his part and done it well now he needs to move on and enjoy life.

1st, thanks to your daughter-in-law for her service.
2nd congrats on your sons up coming service:D
3rd At least you are not a RedNeckDonkey fan:shake:

I lived with Ms. Luke for 10years. We were married in Las Vegas. Her father was my best man. He passsed away that year, but I am sure he was honored.

I consider being a pall bearer and part of a wedding party an honor myself.

that is one of the most heart moving things i have ever heard, it is a big deal to him, and i think that he wants you more than you want to be if you do, but that is amazing. i would have said yes in a heartbeat :)

I had wanted my dad, but chose my best friend cuz my bitch sister stuck her damn nose into far, and I didn't have enough spine back then to speak up.
Had a friend who chose his dad. It's a very cool thing
