At the end you hear a scream......a thud......and the camera goes black.

A staircase made from 2x4's. F*ck that!

I like the concept, but the engineering is scary. The ladder and platform beginning at 3:12 is the worst of it.

I wonder what the actuarial department at his life insurance company would have to say about this.

Oh great...I watch the entire video and nothing. Like watching for a train wreck and nothing.

That's pretty friggin cool. I'm not an engineer, but that looked remarkably sturdy to me.

got a deer stand thats 80ish ft up. you gotta use a ladder i nailed to the tree for the first part, then its step climbers to the top. I get up there and get drunk and shit. its fun, you can shoot tree rats from 4 ft away.

I have no problem with the 2x4's - what do you think your staircase at home is made out of? I have a problem with the 2x4's being nailed into a living thing. When that tree grows, those 2x4's are gonna shift. The staircase will remain viable for a year or two. Beyond that, it's completely unsafe.

Oh hell no! Trees sway in the wind, thereby loosening whatever kind of fasteners he used. 20 feet is about as high as I'd go after a few months.

You couldn't pay me enough to climb that thing.

THIS (http://www.cedarcreektreehouse.com/stairway_photo.htm) is how you build a spiral staircase around a big tree.

The staiway in the video is fail just waiting to happen.

This entire thread is to fear of heights what Jaws was to fear of things in the water.

In a way, this is really a stairway to heaven.I love heights and that looks like alot of fun, but if that platform is heaven I'll pass. Give me a bottle of Patron, two cans of whip cream, and a couple of Vivid girls instead.

That old dude has way too much free time on his hands along with a serious insurance liability. As a hunter I was thinking "well you won't have to worry about deer seeing you" that is until it showed the shitty house and parking lot below. To each his own I guess :bong:?

:spock: are you serious? :shake: i dont think a living thing will quit growing unless it dies

:spock: are you serious? :shake: i dont think a living thing will quit growing unless it diesUnless it's "full grown." That term does have a meaning and it's fairly specific. Done growing, fully developed, adult, mature, etc........

Using your logic by the time people are 75 they should be 16-20 ft tall .
