no where in there says LJ is suspended indefinitely. It just says what we already knew, but he is barred from team activities until we further investigate.

Trade Leon to the Raiders for Jamarcus Russell. Turn Russell into a Tight End, same as the Raiders turned Ethan Horton into a TE. Guy sure can't play QB, but he is big and can block.

Calm down nancy, when I first made the post the title in the headline said he was suspended. After time things have now been changed. So really I can't help the fact that the title was what I originally put, and since Haley won't comment on it, the press is now flip floping for a solid headline.

Haley said that Johnson's banishment from the team facility is "not a suspension at this time."

The semantics are probably important with regards to triggering responses, procedures and requirements, much like the police choosing to avoid the word "suspect" in favor of "person of interest".

Statement on RB Larry Johnson

Oct 27, 2009, 12:30:36 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs and the National Football League are continuing to investigate the alleged comments made by Larry Johnson. Until that review is complete, the Chiefs have instructed Larry to refrain from practicing with the Chiefs or participating in other team activities. A decision regarding Larry’s status will be made once the investigation has concluded.

Sounds like he is deep do do either way.

MMXcalibur

Cut him and let's move on already. Running backs are very much interchangeable and in this case....it would be an upgrade considering my grandmother could average more than 2.7 yards per carry on her broken hip (even behind our O-line! Now, that's skill!).

he's a fraud....last week he was schmoozing with Mitch, talking about how he's all focused and understands his role and how much he appreciates the fans...blahblahblah.

I'll never understand why they hand so much money(power) to people unequipped to deal with it...and subsequently watch them crash and burn.... LJ doesn't have the "luxury" of this excuse....he came from a good upbringing only to repeatedly embarass his parents, the team and the city.

I knew when he showed up at Arrowhead being chauffered in his Maybach that he wasn't and would never be a team player.

Won't bother me a bit if never dons the red and gold again.

It's more like Larry's brain just doesn't work as well as "normal" folks....period. I'm not completely deflecting the possibility of mental handicap/disability, but I'm not giving him any more crutches to stand on.

Why would Smith who is coming off of MAJOR knee surgery, and has been hurt more than Charles has in his career make a better full time back? That is idiotic!

I hate the thinking that Charles can't be a full time back because truth be told....nobody knows.

I'll actually be surprised if Smith plays.

It generally takes two years to recover fully from a ACL surgery and it's barely been one year at this point.

Agreed.

The fact is, Kolby Smith wasn't a full time back in college and hasn't been with success in the NFL either. The thinking that he can be a FT back is ridiculous.

Charles needs an opportunity. If he can't be a FT back, then KC needs to know that.....soon.

The league and the team are investigating a pair of recent incidents, including one where Johnson used a gay slur. This is not the first time Johnson has gotten himself in trouble by using a gay slur, having had to apologize for the same offense last season. He was forced to apologize for this, as well as for negative comments directed at head coach Todd Haley. Haley has thus far refused comment.

The team has barred Johnson from any contact with the team.

This is a precursory move before the team formally releases Johnson before the end of the week, according to the source.

Part of the delay in releasing him involves going through the NFL’s disciplinary investigation, but the source was adamant that Larry Johnson has played his last game in Kansas City.</td></tr></tbody></table>

LJ's been talking stupid shit since day 1, if his comments reflected the teams sentiments in any of those situation that would be proof positive we got the wrong 53 and not a reflection of the coaching.

LJ's a puss and has NO CRED plain and simple and there's no way any real pro doesn't see that.
