there are rumblings that Shawne Merriman won't be re-signed in SD after this year.

Would you, could you?

What's sad is that as washed up as Merriman is, he still managed to come across and stop LJ on 4th and 1.:shake:

This is about the 3rd or 4th thread on this subject.

Where is the "he sucks ass without the roids" option?

for the right price, I'd bring almost anybody in that would help the team. look, fellas, we've been without a lombardi for 40 years now. we've never hoisted the trophy that has our founder's name on it. at this point, if merriman gives you more production than hali (who is nothing more than decently serviceable) or vrabel (blech), you bring him in if it doesn't break the bank.

So we should bring in people that are completely ineffective to improve our team?

absolutely not. however, if he comes cheap and the personnel department finds that he has something left in the tank, take the risk. key point here being 'comes cheap.'

He's not going to be back with San Diego that is well known and has been since they picked English with a 1st rounder.

He'll be worth a shot I'd say, he is coming off a major knee injury usually takes 2 years to really come back from that. I suspect he'll get a bit less money than people would think and then look like he's back being 2 years removed from injury.

The further he is from Tiajuana, the worse he's going to play.

Or we may just get "the name on the back of the jersey".

Why wasn't there a "hell no, this guy's a joke. We're trying to get rid of one expensive and infected vagina already, why get another?" selection?

This guy would be LJ on defense. No one would even know his name if he hadn't pumped his ass full of steroids for a few seasons. He's a never-should-have-been.

Why is there no "Smack my bitch up" option?

This is exactly my take on it.

For those that think I am just saying this because its mecca and all read this:

(my avatar over there is because of a lost bet, I bet a guy the Chiefs wouldnt lose by more than 10 points...well you can see that didnt work out as well as I had hoped it would at the time...)

God knows that we need to generate some sort of pass rush.

I doubt he would choose to come here anyway. He will have offers from a couple decent teams and I am positive we wont be overpaying players like him to entice him to come here, not the PW.

:shake:

Will these threads NEVER end?

In an uncapped year in 2010, he'll be under contract. No reason to "re-sign" him.

This is becoming extremely annoying.
