Seven solo tackles today.

Three in the previous seven games.

Get the HOF bust ready!

All jokes aside... He played a solid game today.
When we obtain some real LB's we'll really be able to evaluate him.

I pointed this out earlier. I hope it is a sign of things to come.

Seven solo? Wow.Good thing we tok him at 3 instead of 10 or 15 where he prob would have still been sitting....

It might have been the choppy, soundless, feed I watched today but I thought Jackson actually looked alright. Mays looked okay too and I would add Hali to the list if he would simply finish the play off.

Yeah nice to see Tyson actually got on board with some tackles.

However, (and this might be more on Edwards) given the fact that the Jags took our manhood by running it up the gut all game long doesn't lead me to believe that the front 3, and LBers, didn't play all that well.

Jackson, Mays and Flowers are all good players on this defense. Hali could be better if we had a better push up the middle. But yes, Jackson looked good today.

Who did we end of drafting with our #10 or 15 pick?

"Hali would have more sacks if he was a better player."

ROFL

It's a shame, though, he could have like 7 sacks this season...really....if you know...he was a better player.... :doh!:

We didn't have a pick at 10 or 15.I just would like to see where he would have went if we didn't take him at 3.

Morgan had 6 solo tackles, and a FR. There were some nice signs from a couple of young players today.

I'm glad we brought Brown in for some veteran leadership

Hali must have thought all big QBs fall like Russel.

I thought his job was to not do anything.

He did look good. Actually the entire d line looked pretty good today. They got close to about 6 sacks. That Garrard dude is pretty hard to bring down.

In order to improve this Defense (and make this torturous season worth anything), we need some foundational players to develop. We don't have any amazing standouts, but there are a few guys who can play or look like they're developing in the right direction. After watching today's game the only starters I'd keep are: Tyson Jackson, Glen Dorsey, Tamba Hali, Brandon Flowers, Corey Mays and Derrick Johnson. Four new starters, and we MIGHT actually have a chance of a decent D. Of course I'm also praying that Pendegrast was a one year solution so that we can get Crennel as the D coordinator next season. The calls on D today were just atrocious.

Our safeties are so bad, I was wondering if there was any way could take both those top safeties coming out of the draft- but that's just a fantasy. We definitely need one of them, and also...some better LB's and yes, a better CB. Carr looked like crap today.
