he's always wanted to play for pittsburgh...this isn't news

but too bad he just doesn't fit in there...unless they want to cut Willie Parker...

Mendenhall is a better, younger version of LJ

20. George Foster

21. Jeff Faine

22. Rex Grossman

23. Willis MacGahee

You could do this with EVERY draft. Fact is, LJ is the second leading rusher in Chiefs history

Noobness is a matter of the beholder. Maybe a rule of thumb is anyone with a third or less posts than you have can be scorned as a noob. I have more posts than it shows here, but since the crash after the Redskins game, I got knocked back to square one, but I had not broken the 1000 mark anyhow.

That's more an indictment of the Chiefs RB history than a reflection of LJ's contribution.

LJ's hoping someone picks him up off waivers so he won't play for minimum. Nice try.

I think LJ is going to be humbled by what happened in KC. I expect him to be a good teammate and play his ass off wherever he goes, because well, he has to.

Great comment. The Chiefs have had many good/above average/great running backs in their history...problem is they only last here 2 to 4 years. Mike Garrett, Joe Delaney, Christian Okoye, Barry Word, Priest, LJ. The only running back to last a long time in KC was Ed Podolak.

Well your right. That would be the smart play on his part. As we all know though he is not exactly what one would call smart. So I really don't see any evidence that he would be humbled about this at all. As far as playing well for another team. That's debatable until another team signs him. I personally doubt he plays his ass off. It's not like another team is going to sign him to be their feature back. That's just not what he is anymore as a player. He's going to be signed by another team as a stop-gap filler because of injury, or just to compliment the feature back of the team that signs him. Nothing more. First he's going to have to prove himself to those teammates, fans, coaches, etc. though.

If he pulled the same stunts in Pittsburg. I wonder if they would have cornered him in the shower and beat the fuck out of him.

Thing is, for the first month and a half I think he was doing this for KC. Problem is, him playing his ass off these days doesn't make up for his dilapidated, worn-out body. He just doesn't have the physical tools to play RB anymore.

Well after futher observation of the Monday night game I'll quote a line I heard from Jon Gruden during the broadcast..."If and when the Steelers get Fast Willie Parker back, I'd say they're set at runningback". This of course he said in the fourth quarter after Mendenhall and Moore were running wild through Denver's defense for a good portion of the game. In other words I don't know if the Steelers have room for LJ on their squad regardless of how much he may or may not want to play there. I mean why ruin a good thing if your them right.
