F$%^ that t@#$, I was spent more time sick when I got one than when I didn't get one. Going on 10 years since I got mine last one, healthiest time of my life so far since the last one.

The regular vaccine has a higher incidence of complications than the H1N1 vaccine does.

Never had one and I think I had the flu once in my 28 years. Seems unnecessary to me.

Really? I have always gotten the regular flu shot figuring it has been out forever and is safe.

I remembered you saying you wouldn't get the H1N1 shot so I listened to you. :harumph:

I get a flu shot every year for the past 10 or so years. For me, missing work can potentially cost me a lot of money and creates problems for others who would have to cover my store. I've never understood what the big deal is.

Every year for the last 15 years. Haven't had the flu since. Had a bad bout with pneumonia 10 years ago and get a shot for that one every 5 years. Used to get at least 1 bad cold every year until I but I didn't have any problems since the pneumonia shot. I remember a lot of sick buildings before I retired and never once was touched.

Maybe some feel a little trepidation because of the needle. Not me, I like 'em. Put 'em right up there with rope burns and root canals.

Did you realize that it's exactly the same thing except for the strain of flu it targets? BTW, where are you located? The last I checked it was still very regulated as to what age groups could receive it.

As for me, I got the seasonal shot a month ago or so and I'll get the H1N1 shot when it becomes available.

I got the flu shot every year from 2001-2005 and had the flu at least 3 out the 4 years. Have not had the flu shot since 2005 and have not had the flu since 2005. Coincidence?

Wife and both sons tested postive for a type A flu in September and I played nurse maid to all 3 at the same time (man did that suck!) and I never came down with it. :D

Geesh whats with all the paranoia?

It's not paranoia. It's a belief that the body's immune system is not a static function. It needs exercise like any other bodily function. Flu shots drastically disrupt the immune system's natural process of fighting unwanted intruders. Instead of allowing your body to build up it's own immunity, your injecting a witch's brew of nastiness that may or may not even work. The CDC readily admits that it makes an "educated guess" on what influenza strain to put into the shots. My body already has built in defenses for this kind of thing, and it doesn't need any "educated guesses" or potentially harmful preservatives to do its job. Even if I do catch the flu(which I never have), I'd rather be sick for a few days and let my immune system do it's thing as it normally would, than rely on a manmade cocktail. In this case, I trust my immune system a lot more than I trust a pharmaceutical company. I know for a fact that my immune system has my best interest in mind, but I can't say the same for a pharmaceutical company trying to make a profit. Evolution has a bit more experience in this regard. It's fallacy to think that a pharmaceutical company can create a single vaccine that effectively works for millions of different people's individual immune systems.

And how do you think a vaccine works? It introduces attenuated intruders into the body and the immune system works naturally to build up immunities. As far as the CDC making an educated guess about what strains to include, of course that's all they can do. But it has nothing to do with not exercising the immune system.

H1N1 or wear a mask while at work till march. Lot of people are wearing the mask, including me.

Once again, this. If your immune system doesn't work, then the vaccine doesn't work.
