For those of you who dont know who Phil Emery is...he is our new director of college scouting. He handles how we go about preparing our information for Pioli to go off of to make his decisions on draft day.

For the last 6 years, he has held the same position for the Atlanta Falcons. (04-09, while in 09 he became their national scout)

Before that span, he held the same title with the Chicago bears for the 7 years prior to that (98-04)

Here is a full list of every draft pick he has hand in drafting over his NFL career, I have to say it is quite impressive. Brace yourself for information overload:

That is like 1000% better than what we are used to, so we may have a reason to think that we might have some decent drafts in the near future to help us turn this thizang around!

GO CHIEFS!!

So let's get this straight; after Dimitroff came to Atlanta this guy was demoted from Director Of College Scouting to National Scout and you are happy we have him. FYI...according to the Falcons he was demoted in '08 when David Caldwell became Director of College Scouting.

National Scout is the NFL way of saying we owe you money to do a job, we won't fire you but you don't have a real position so get your resume ready. An example of this would be Terry Bradway is still a National Scout and Consultant for the NY Jets.

I know it isnt a great history, but FCS we have NOTHING but a backup linebacker and a punter from the whole DV era of drafting. At least that history has a couple players from each year that stuck. The posts was meant as a 50% serious and 50% stab at the old regime.

Some good picks, some not so good ones. I guess the positive would be that the Atlanta ones look better than the Chicago ones.
