T.O. needs to be worrying about himself and how he is going to bounce back next season. If not, he will just become a muscled up, washed up old receiver who drops passes laid right into his hands.

Wasn't this from his HC interview with JJ? I bet it played a part in him not succeeding Parcells in Dallas because JJ loved TO so much. JMO though

Haley was right though. Look at how much better they look without him now.

Boldin wanted to tear Haleys head off too, on the way to the superbowl. This year Breaston is a more productive receiver than Boldin so maybe he has a clue as to what to look for in receivers. Maybe not.

So far this year, Breaston has more yards and a higher average than Boldin (after Haley is gone) so maybe Haley does have a good idea on what to do with receivers in the grand scheme of things.

Bowe went from being the teams #2 target and getting teams #2 corners, to being the #1 target and getting much better competition across from him too. He doesn't have all the other advantages of having a Tony G on the team either. He is facing double and sometimes triples and is coming down with the football. He is facing rolled coverage and is finding ways to get some separation and is making the tough catches while double covered with some consistency.

If you take out the adjustment period and look at his last couple games as a better indicator of his improvement, I would say Bowe has indeed played better than last year. I would even stretch it to say much better given the difference in competition.

How well he played against what likely is the top corner in the NFL (although, I prefer Revis as the top dogg) in the Raider game is much better than he has played up till that point.

Romos numbers are better across the board and that after "losing" their #1 receiver. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RomoTo00.htm some arent a whole lot better, but also consider the fact they don't have their all pro receiver anymore and he still did that. Addition by subtraction.


Boldin and Breaston both are credited with 8 games played. I haven't followed them as much as most teams, what games did he miss? I dont think it matters though, y/a is a much much better measuring stick (Boldin is at 11.8/a, Breaston is at 14/a) for a receiver anyway. If Haley decided that Boldin was far and away the better receiver, a guy like Breaston might have gone unnoticed. right or wrong? Instead, Haley took out Boldin in a huge game and staked his reputation on his decision and it paid off.

My point is that he seems to have the ability to spot flaws (mental flaws) in even the elite receivers that most others dont and that he isnt afraid to make the changes there that are in the best interests of the team in the long run.

maybe Im wrong, but I dont think so.

That is not exactly what Im saying, but pretty close. Maybe not every game, but in a lot more than you are trying to make it out as with all you clever upper case letters.

I am also saying that Tony was doubled/tripled more than anyone and that he took a lot of the heat off Bowe, heat that he is getting right now. Or are you gonna get all uppercase on me and tell me how Tony wasnt double/triple teamed very often last year.

My point is that Bowe has had a much tougher job this year and if you are gonna compare his production to last year, you have to take into consideration the jump in competition and focus to defense he has faced. Project his stats from the last two or three games and project them over a whole year and see where he stacks up to last year..
