Has this Facebook phenomenon happened to you?

So Facebook isn't MySpace. You don't really have to know a person to add them -- if they look relatively familiar, usually adding them requires little to no maintenance so whatever.

Well I get an add request not too long ago from a young lady named Meldie Berryman, picture here:

I say sure, whatever, I don't really know you but that face looks similar enough to some of the faces I've seen in human history, so I guess it's fine.

Her profile is, essentially, blank. It's one picture, none others available. And if she has a status update maybe once every two days, and it's always something generic like "going to the mall, then shopping!"

I've messaged her once to ask if I know her, nothing.

So, tired of her generic, boring updates with zero response, I intiate the following short, exchange tonight after she posts another mundane update.

And this is the response I get.

as a general rule of thumb you never accept a friend request from someone who only has one photo (especially if the photo of the person is attractive). dead giveaway that it's a fake account.

The easiest way to log into those sites is with your FB user/password, but only after you've turned off all anti-virus software; and you might have to confirm your age and/or identity by entering a valid credit card number, or your social security number, current address, bank account... just general info for verification purposes.

Facebook requires you to use your real name. If anything, you DEFINITELY "have to know" a person to add them. You're giving people access to YOUR real name, as well as your real friends and their real names.
