After watching the game I have to say consistency wise from a defensive standpoint from beginning to end tonight's game was the best I've seen this team look all season. Granted they were playing the likes of Alcorn State mind you. That being said the effort they gave and the way they played defense tonight was just flat out nasty. KU also had some great ball movement with some nice passes as well. They rebounded well, ran the fast break smoothly and overall just played rather unselfishly. If this team keeps growing and learn how play together with that much effort both offensively and defensively all the time they're going to be very tought to beat. Good game even though it was Alcorn State.

This is the important part. I liked the intensity even though they knew they were going to beat these kids down.

It's a little worrisome that they still made some dumbass passes (*Cough* TYSHAWN YOU FUCKSTICK*Cough*) despite the lack of pressure. There won't be nearly as much transition opportunities, but if they can get some easy buckets from Defense in Big 12 play, then that may offset some of their struggles stemming from youth.

My lord, Alcorn State is the worst Division 1 team out there. KU was clanging wide open treys and free throws all night and making stupid decisions...and still won by 67. I don't know if the 31 points Alcorn State scored was a product of them just being terrible or KU being good at defense, I'm hoping it's a little bit of both.

If KU plays well in this game they honestly could have won by 80. I think Fort Hayes State could beat these clowns by 30.

Yea but also look at it this way. If KU's shots were dropping for them tonight which they really weren't for the most part, than the final score here is a hell of a lot uglier than it ended up being. Like I said before though the effort and defense were what both suprised me and impressed me the most this evening. Our guys came to play even though the shots weren't falling. I like they way they're starting to play. I hope it continues to get better though. Still got plenty of work to be done for this young team. They're still a ways off. But I think I see them getting better out there. We'll find out as the year progresses whether this holds true.

The past couple of years it seems those MU Bastards have come up strong at the end. They'll probably do it this year somehow as well. We'll see. :D
