Hanukkah is basically the Jewish Christmas now.

Celebration - typically - consists of lighing the candle @ sundown & the exchanging of presents at the same time.

Traditionally, each night consists of very little ceremony. Many celebrate with parties - I have one for mom's side & one for dad's, so I really celebrate only 2 of 8 nights beyond the ceremonial candle lighting.

At the parties the children will light the menorah, say prayers & gift exchanging ensues. In my family, once you're out of high-school you only get one present.

HAPPY 4th NIGHT TO ALL THOSE CELEBRATING!!!!!!!

Yep - I remember as a child I got the "MAN YOU ARE SO LUCKY, 8 nights of presents!!!" but we got small, crappy presents for 7 nights and then the good stuff on the final night.

As an adult we just get together for one night, light candles eat, argue, laugh, and exchange gifts.
