Good for you. Sounds great. I will be feasting on Dungenous crab fresh from here on the north coast. I think it is the best, but I get it fresh here. I am biased. Never had fresh King so I guess I am comparing apples to oranges. Ever try Dungenous?

Some friends of ours are having a big party out in the country at their house. We all have kids, so we're getting a communal sitter at another friend's house to stay with the kids through the night.

Sure sign that I'm getting old: the whole thing just sounds like a giant pain in the ass to me. I wish I was cooking a good dinner, building a fire, drinking a good bottle of scotch and chilling at the house.

Before that I was either working NYE or NYD every year, so it was just another night.... I was looking at all of the different champagne and feeling a bit overwhelmed. This guy (who does not work at the grocery store), comes up and asks if I'm doing alright. I was honest and said, "Not really." He asked what my tastes were, my price range, etc. Turns out, he's a distributor. Was telling me the difference between champagne and wine, which ones were dry vs which ones were sweeter, etc. He was really helpful. Even told me how to open a bottle...lol.

I will get obnoxiously drunk and make out with a random chick in keeping with the holiday spirit. Then I'll throw up all over the place. I'll have to babysit my friend Dave I'm sure. Although I will be unbelievably hammered, Dave will assuredly be worse off than I am. He will probably pull his dick out in public or punch somebody's bay window out again.

Good times.

Hootie?

So much for low key.... a couple of friends got a room on the Plaza, so I'll be out with the amateurs all night, trying to push Slayer into having a freakin' birthday drink this year.

I think we'll be down in the Waldo/Brookside area tonight. Not sure what bar(s) we're heading to yet, but should be a good time with a fun group.

Oh, and I got a lesson on champagne today while I was at the store. Our local Price Cutter grocery store actually has a great selection of beer, alcohol, and wine. Even told me how to open a bottle...lol.He was offering you some dick. :)

I don't go out for NYE for the same reasons I don't go out for St. Patricks day and any other drinking holiday - DUI checkpoints, outrageous cover charges, 2 hours waits for cabs and drinks, and d-bags in ed hardy t-shirts who act like its their 21st birthday.

I'm such an old man sometimes.

Try a few Red Bulls. Those things keep me awake all night.

Just be careful not to drink too many or you won't be able to sleep.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind ending up at some dive bar, instead of the Plaza, Westport, or the P&L tonight... even though I could walk home from the Plaza if I had to. Google Maps does walking routes... I wonder if they have a Drunken Walking Route. :hmmm:

yep; I think the popular "Chamgagne" is really sparkling wine. and I think the label tells you how dry it is 'Brut' etc.

we'll be picking up a cheap bottle of something tonight. Hitting up a local sushi joint; mmmmm. Sushi and miso soup.

Careful with that vodka and oj Luv :D

QFT! NYE is probably the most overrated "celebration" known to man.

The Mrs and I are going out to dinner with the chiefhusker's and other friends. Prolly hit a party for a while before heading over to a local hangout to listen to a crappy cover band.

Nothing too thrilling, but it's always good to see old friends.

I'd be careful. I've heard that it not only wakes you up, but it gives you wings.

Well, I'm getting all set. Got off of work early, came home, did dishes, took out the trash, and am watching a pitiful MU performance. I'll watch the rest of this game, take a shower, get in my pj's, and fix my first screwdriver. :)
