Let's face it: yesterday was dismal. Literally, yesterday was the shortest-day Sunday of the year. The craptastic year of 2009 is winding down.

:toast:Here's looking forward, knowing that the sun will hang out longer each day for the next six months.

Happy holidays to you and yours. Cheer up-- things could get....... Aw screw it! At least we're seeing more daylight

I thought the Equinox was when this happened but not 100%.

Today is the Winter Solstice (in our hemisphere) which is the longest night and shortest day.

The length of daylight will be something like two seconds longer tomorrow, and so on, until the Summer Solstice.

The equinoxes are are when the amount of daylight and darkness are equal.

Ehhhhh - maybe some year when we're all dead and crusted they might win... Better hope King Carl doesn't go to heavan or there's going to be some of us going to hell when we're done with him !!
