Tough Week for Bengals

Most of the Cincinnati players and some of the Bengals coaches went to Louisiana on Tuesday for the funeral of wide receiver Chris Henry. But upon their return, they had a powerful incentive to get their minds back on business.

The Bengals would clinch the AFC North championship with a win Sunday. Cincinnati can also clinch by winning next week’s game in New York but would rather do the deed in front of the home fans.

“It was a long day, a sad day, an emotional day,” Cincinnati quarterback Carson Palmer said. “It was a day I’ll never forget, and I’m sure a lot of guys would say the same thing. But we’ve got to get back to work. We’ve got a chance to win our division this week at home in front of our fans and put on the hats and T-shirts and celebrate. But we’ve got to go out and take the right steps.

“It will definitely be difficult for us. But when all is said and done and it’s time to play football, this team will be ready to play football.”

I made it to my FF championship game. I had the Pats D and the Jets D. I don't trust either so, for the final game, I cut one and benched the other and went to see who was available. I had to pick the best likely one, and Cincy was available. Sorry.

I guess the idea is to go after the running backs. Which I didn't do. Instead, I grabbed QB (Peyton Manning) and WR (Wes Welker), then TE (Dallas Clark). I mixed and matched other WRs, and picked up some unknowns who showed promise early on (e.g. Mario Manningham).
