Gotta admit I love Chris Johnson. He's on my fantasy team and he wasn't as well known when he played the Chiefs so I can watch his highlights without most of them featuring the Chiefs stellar D. We get to see enough of that on the Top 10 lists. I think the Chiefs where featured twice on the NFL networks countdown last week. It's all about brand recognition I guess.

I know he doesn't have 400 carries but even if the number looks reasonable a significant increase in touches can have adverse affects on a player.

If he starts getting close to 350 or 100 more than he had last year it is something to look at...

Michael Turner took a ton of carries last year and followed it up with a very bland year this year.

Not disagreeing with you. Just saying he's had 3 over 85 yards and isn't subjecting his body to some of the big blows. But what your saying is true though with all the other guys. He was just a rookie last year so he's younger than the other guys its happened to. Sure hope it doesn't happen to him. Kid seems like a hell of a good human being and alot of fun to watch.

Pretty much. They've really had "the talent" for the past few years, but never seemed to be able to put it together. For some reason, they seem to have found their stride at the right time this season.

I'm drafting a letter to GQ's style guy about Marshall Faulk's sneakers.

Going into this game, the Chargers had the 21st ranked run defense so we knew they'd struggle with Johnson. Add in Phillips struggling with injury and you've got issues. But, save for some garbage yards where the defense was playing back, Johnson was held to around 100, which is quite good.

Indy and NE don't have great run games, but what about the other AFC teams?

The Dolphins, Steelers, or Jags could give the Chargers all they could handle in the running game (the Steelers if they give the rock to Mendenhall and Parker), but at the end of the day, this is a passing league, and the Bengals would be the toughest match up for the Chargers if they faced them, because they can both run and pass the ball.
