Lots of players to keep an eye on in this one...

From GBN...

Sunday evening’s Music City Bowl offers pro scouts one last chance to watch Clemson RB C.J. Spiller (#28, 5-10, 195), the ACC player of the year. Spiller, who ran for 1,145 years in 2009 while averaging almost 14 yards on 33 receptions, is also arguably the top senior RB prospect in the upcoming draft class. And with sprinter speed, Spiller who reportedly runs the 40 in the 4.3 area figures to be one of the star’s of the pre-draft workout regimen. Fast as he is, though, Spiller isn’t the fastest prospect on the Clemson team as WR Jacoby Ford (#6, 5-9, 185) is arguably the fastest player in all of college football. Clemson has a couple of other top 75 prospects in OLB Ricky Sapp (#7, 6-3, 240), yet another Tiger with special speed and quickness for the position, along with rugged C/G Thomas Austin (#65, 6-3, 315). And the Tigers could have an even greater impact on the early going of the 2010 draft if any of talented juniors DeAndre McDaniel (#2, 6-0, 200), a ball-hawking FS, LT Chris Hairston (#61, 6-5, 325) and DT Jarvis jenkins (#99, 6-3, 310) opt to leave school early this winter. Meanwhile, TE Michael Palmer (#86, 6-4, 250), CBs Chris Chancellor (#38, 5-9, 165) and Crezdon Butler (#18, 5-11, 185) and LB Kavell Conner (#33, 6-0, 225) all have later round possibilities.

Kentucky won’t have any where near the impact on the 2010 draft as Clemson, but does several solid veterans including CB Trevard Lyndley (#32, 5-11, 180), one of the top senior corners in this year’s draft, full-sized, run-stuffing MLB Micah Johnson (#4, 6-2, 260) and SSLB Sam Maxwell (#50, 6-2, 250), a good coverage backer who picked off 6 passes this past season. None of the three, though, is overly fast or athletic although Lyndley should get some serious consideration starting in the latter part of the second round. Meanwhile, DT Corey Peters (#91, 6-3, 295), OT Zipp Duncan (#72, 6-5, 295) and FB John Connor (#38, 5-10, 240) are late round or free agent prospects.

Did Taylor Mays transfer?

No, but there are plenty of others in this game.

Clemson has a lot of NFL talent it's weird how much they usually underachieve.

Micah Johnson, we need this cat on our team. Great linebacker can play inside in the 3-4 or outside in the 4-3.

Not sure what round he'll go in but I like him. He is also a return man too, isn't he? I'm interested.

Could be a 4th rounder according to Walter's Mock on Thursday. The FS, #2 McDaniel, for Clemson is dealing some hits out as well

Jacoby Ford is a nice player and all but be aware he's probably 5'8.

He is listed at 5-9 185. That is exactly what Wes Welker is listed at.

Well frankly at the next level Ford is probably a return man and not much else, maybe a gimmick player.

Also even though they aren't listed in that header DaQuan Bowers and Brandon Maye are very good NFL prospects.

You don't think Ford could be a slot receiver with that speed? What do you think of McDaniel from Clemson. Dude is everywhere.

It takes more than being fast to play slot WR, sure Ford runs track and all that but the slot is about route running and being sure handed.

McDaniel is a solid prospect but he'd be best served to go back to school as this is a good safety class for the most part.

I mean this safety class is good enough that no one ever mentions Kam Chancellor and I like the hell out of him as a prospect.

He has that speed on a bad toe...it's weird to think he's played the whole year on a bad toe and done what he's done.

Yep! He had no business getting that corner turned for the TD, and made it look easy. Scary to think what he might be when healthy.

Don't tell anyone here that, since now all of the sudden Charles and Spiller are the same thing, which I still find one of the most amusing things I've ever read but hey...

How could you argue that paying a RB is stupid, but drafting one 3rd overall and paying them 30 million in guarantees is a smart move?

I think Spiller is special too, but there's no way you take him 3rd overall.

Mecca

I make exceptions for rare players, 99% of the time I would never take a RB that high, Spiller is the 1%.

Spiller scored in every game this year lets not draft him.

Are you kidding? I brought up not drafting Berry and drafting Chancellor in round 2 and every on here flamed me.
