great size, great feet ... really quick off the snap, has the speed and quickness to pull and block linebackers.

looks Samoan ... has the big lower body. A slim looking 330lbs if that's possible.

trade up a little bit with our second 2nd round pick and snag him if we can.

he comes off the snap so fast that he is halfway to the linebacker before the RB even gets the ball.

he doesn't seem to have a mean streak but he looks real good doing what he does.

I put VERY little stock in this.

John Welbourn's worthless ass supposedly had a hell of a "mean streak."

All the "fire in the belly" crap should take "the process" and find an AIDS sapling.

Iupati has been stellar. I honestly think that he could play RT at the next level. He reminds me of Kareem McKenzie.

Thank God for Barnes, or we'd be getting our asses handed to us.

Motherfuck. What a waste of a great drive by Sheehan and Barnes by that abortion of a prevent defense.

Honestly, I would be shocked to see if he's in the round 2. I would think he would be gone by mid to late first round.

But if he is there in round 2, I wouldn't want to pass it up.

I also wouldn't mind getting Mike Iupati, Mike Johnson, and Matt Tennant with both 2nds and 3rd. That would go a long way to shore up our o-line for years to come.

I am painfully reminded of Junior Saviaii. :spock:

There is something to be said of players coming out of the bigger colleges. Watching how they play against their competition.

Coming out of a small college, the talent is less of course.

He was out half the season with a shoulder injury. If i was scouting this guy i would look at his work ethic. The Samoan's might get lazy on us, lol.

I hear you.

After Trezelle Jenkins, I didn't want the Chiefs to draft another black athlete. I mean, if we can stereotype all Samoan's in the same breath as Junior Siavii and pass on this guy's immense talent (since when does the WAC produce bad competition??) then we might as well just think of every black athlete like Trezelle Jenkins.

he will be one of the biggest "high character" guys as well as being known for a solid work ethic.

NOTHING like Siavii.

This kid is one of the better pulling guards in recent memory to come out in the NFL draft.

2nd round a) Mike Iupati OG

2nd round b) Kristofer O'Dowd C

Kristofer O'Dowd*, USC
Height: 6-5. Weight: 298.
Projected 40 Time: 5.07.
Projected Round (2010): 1-2.
2/11/09: No one should blame Kris O'Dowd if he comes out early; he'd be the top center prospect in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was an All-Pac 10 first-teamer as a sophomore.

Its almost impossible to guess who is going to be there in the second round. But generally I think as a team you should look for that guy dropping. Two years ago it was Brandon Flowers who was considered the best corner until he started falling somewhat before the draft. That's first round talent for a second round pick. Last year same thing happened with Ray Maualuga. Those are the type of guys you want to draft. (Look at the Steelers for a good example of a team who consistently takes people who drop (Mendelhall, Sweed, Woodly to name some))

With this draft being deep in potential OLB I could see KC getting some talent that would in other years be around the 20th-25th at 35. I think that's great value. There are some WR that could be interesting at that point as well.

Iupati is a beast. It's pretty rare for a Guard to be drafted in the first round. A couple of years ago Baltimore drafted Ben Grubbs late in round 1. I would be OK drafting him with our 2a pick. He looks like he could be a perennial pro bowl OG for 10 years.

I was hoping he meant, use the 2nd, 2nd to get him. Even if you have to throw in a 7th or 6th, to move it up a little.

Oh wait.........forget that

yes, i meant use our second, 2nd round draft pick to grab Iupati ... even if we need to trade up a little to do it.

1st rd - Eric Berry
2nd rd(a) - Hopefully a 1st round value guy that slips through the cracks
2nd rd(b) - Iupati (even if we have to trade up 5+ to get him)

That would be pretty legit, I'm not a huge Brandon graham fan, just due to the fact he plays at that school up North. In all seriousness he is a good player, and if we got all three of those players, that would be crazy.
