...to get the Matt Cassel from the game's first series to show up for an entire season? 'cause he looked fucking awesome on that drive. I've never seen him throw deep balls on a line like that, with that kind of confidence and accuracy. He actually looked like a QB that could do more than throw screens. It was amazing to watch. I want more of that, mmm'kay?

I didn't get to watch the game live and am watching it from DVR right now. That first drive, he really did look good.

Get and offensive coordinator. Get a QB coach. Give him a full offseason to get the offense down. Give him more continuity in the other 10 offense players.

Yeah, putting up 524 yards of offense definitely indicates Haley's the problem. The offensive improvement from the beginning of the season is stunning.

Throwing on first down can make a difference.

And throwing right at the receiver's head would be a great idea as well, not the usual Cassal low and behind/away from the receiver's body.

Pioli,Haley, and Cassel have earned one more year to prove themselves. If they aren't 8-8 next year then they deserve all the shit they get. But this was the best game the Chiefs have played since they blasted Denver early in 2008.
At the start most people were predicting 4-12 and that's what they did.

He is what he is. He can be a solid QB... once he gets comfortable, once he gets some more talent around him, and once he gets an OC who puts him in positions to win, i.e. use his abilities in the best way (which is what Belichick did). As I've said all along, he might not be the solution to the Chiefs' losing ways, but I think, overall, he can make the QB position NOT part of the problem.

In a transition year, the Chiefs doubled their win total (from 2 to 4). In net points they were -130, which is pretty bad, BUT they still did better than the Lions, Bucs, Raiders, and matched the Browns. Pointwise they scored 24, 10, 14, 16, 20, 14, 7, 21, 16, 27, 14, 13, 10, 34, 10, and 44: four games 20+, one game 30+, and one game 40+, so there's potential there (especially with Cassel having a season under his belt, and Charles getting the rock from the get-go). They lost by 3 to Oakland, by 6 to Buffalo and Dallas, by 7 to Cleveland and Cincy; that's a potential swing from 4-12 to 9-7 of games lost by one score or less. It could be worse; you could be Detroit, Tampa Bay, or Oakland (who, despite having one more win, sucked in the PF/PA differential... and Cassel half-blind and half-drunk is better than Jafatass).

The fact you mentioned Bradford should be a bannable offense....

It might not hurt to stick with an OC, playbook, blocking scheme, etc. through a whole year. Plus, upgrading the WRs and OL wouldn't hurt either.
