Ok... here are the offseason plans for the planet....

(all POST superbowl and pre draft)

#1 Upgrade to the new VB 4.0 software... the last few upgrades were more about stability and speed.. this one is more about features and sitewide integration ... allows for indivual blogs and news articles etc etc...

#2 Launch a couple more "Planet" sites... I want to get some more planet sites up so that eventually (probably another year) we can have planet vs planet competitions and such...

WHICH brings me to what I need help on...

Which sites would you suggest launching?

ChargersPlanet? SteelersPlanet? CowboysPlanet? (blech)

I will barely have time for this... so I am thinking 3 sites MAX.

I will post a poll and you guys can check the 3 sites that you think A)will succeed in getting a solid following and B)will be fun to have alongside ChiefsPlanet and PatriotsPlanet

(poll in 3 minutes...)

How about FAXPlanet?

It would be very, very cool. On FAXPlanet, the girls outnumber the boys 10 to 1 and all the girls are blond, young and nubile with proportionate titties. Plus, on FAXPlanet, all the guys are rich and marijuana plants grow 30 feet high alongside rivers of margaritas. FAXPlanet also has BJ Day every Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Which is super cool because FAXPlanet spins on its axis so fast that every other day is either Tuesday or Wednesday. To be honest, SteelerPlanet is a kind of a dump compared to FAXPlanet.

Mostly our lower bodies if the bus is crowded enough.

See, here's the real issue. Men marry brunettes. Because of this, men have to treat brunettes respectfully, because men don't want to imagine their wives on FAXplanet serving up BJ Tuesday to everyone. Men don't marry blondes or redheads or Asian chicks, so therefore they're more open to these kinds of things.

Except for Asia. In Asia, men marry Asian chicks and not blondes, brunettes, or redheads. That's why you don't read the Asian version of FAX (there's actually 4 of them in China) talking about having Asian BJ days. They're including brunettes, which we American men view suspiciously.

There's a whole man's world that no woman can ever fully understand.

I'm curious about the launching of new "Planet" sites? Seems to me that a poll almost certain to be biased toward AFCW teams isn't a good way to choose that (unless all things are otherwise equal). Seems to me that you'd want to know which teams have a gap in online chat rooms. In particular, you might survey the landscape and see if there are any teams that don't have an existing popular vBulletin.

I like this the VB platform so much more than other platforms that I'd choose one community over another based on the format.

Just a thought.

Rain Man

The other metric is that you want teams that have been historically bad in the early years of the Internet era and are now rising. Those are the teams whose fans are less likely to already be members of other boards and are now getting more interested. They're the growth markets.

Just out of curiosity, what would be the result of starting divisionplanets, e.g., AFCNorthPlanet? Would it immediately descend into irreversible fighting and warfare, or after an initial shakeout period would you end up with an open port like Hong Kong where people of all teams in the division come together and have discussions?

I say this because I really like having fans of other teams around here.

I think you need to have a good plan for which 3 you do next... there could be a very valid reason why some of the options currently for some teams suck. You need a diehard fanbase and go with that team.

You have PatriotsPlanet which has done well (at least it looks like it has) and there really isn't a tie or connection to this place, I don't visit there much ... so I could be missing something.

Some teams have great sites, like the Jets and http://www.theganggreen.com/

You need to focus on those types of teams (Dallas, PIT, BAL, CHI) if you want early success, in my opinion.

I don't know that the Raiders need another... of if SD fans would really support it like the other teams. Denver has the Mane and MileHighReport...
