I'm not really sure what it is I'm mocking, but I'll say 42. That's the universal answer to everything.

Your mocking nothing. Its what this threads about. How many posts can be about nothing. Man I must be bored. This is kinda stupid.

It's a Sam Hall thing. He's trying to teach Mizzou fans about tradition. We should not get too excited when our team wins, and we should not get overly optimistic because we don't have history. When Sam brings up tradition, chances are great that the "certain people" he's inciting are Mizzou fans. Stick around, you'll learn how interesting (or not) some people are.

F*ck Tradition. I cheer for Mizzou and Boise State (I actually do cause I can usually watch them on Thursday night ESPN :) ) Tradition is what makes all of these clownshoes out here turn into whiners when their beloved team only gets a three seed (and then loses to Bucknell). Tradition is what makes people feel self-entitled to championships, and lose all appreciation for a win. Tradition s what makes a team fire a manager because its been more than 8 years since they won a World Series.

I love college sports for the intensity of players playing to win and not for money. Its cool when a team has played another for the last 120 years straight, but other than that, tradition can bite my ass.

Agreed, but this leads back to the whole excitement thing. Seeing as how you try to remain emotionless, I'm not sure what your excuse is. :p

Appreciating wins is different from getting excited over them. Even when Haley won this year, you didn't see him getting all happy and whatnot.

I just totally don't understand the whole feeling of nostalgia. Anything nostalgic could disappear tomorrow and it wouldn't hurt me in the slightest.

To me, excitement is what makes a game memorable. Of course, I'm a woman, so that's how my mind works, I guess.

People are generally nostalgic when they're trying to feel good about something. If you're able to do that some other way, no harm in that.

GAH! Is it really 1:45? Damned day job. 7AM is gonna come early.

If I'm playing (and although I've never coached, I know its the same), I don't want to remember a game, I want to win it.

Though I get it, cause the Fiesta Bowl between Boise State and Oklahoma was cool. It was like watching a movie. So I understand that feeling somewhat, but not the nostalgia thing.
