Wow. Big surprise to me. Maybe it shouldn't be?

Ew, that's not a good move for him.

McKnight isn't a starter at the NFL level, he was a huge recruit that was suppose to be the next Bush that never lived up to that.

He's a mid round pick that can be a change of pace, 3rd down back, kick returner type.

Sounds like McKnight was not to fond of Reggie Bush.

I'll be surprised if he is picked in the 3rd. I am gonna say, he's a 4th or 5th round pick.

LOL he was suppose to be Bush and he was basically a talented dipshit that never learned how to not fumble so other RB's got to play as much as him.

As a fan of that team anytime McKnight was playing I always feared he would fumble, he's that guy.

Isn't he a (RS) Sophomore?? I may be wrong?

Time is flying by, I remember him from high school.

He's a true junior, most top recruits at SC don't redshirt.

Maybe he's upset the NCAA was mad he was driving an SUV.

Oh well not like it matters, Allen Bradford and Marc Tyler to tote the rock next year.

"The time is right," McKnight said. "This was my first healthy season and I really don't want to come back and risk injury."

This and the fact that it's a possibility that rookie caps will be here a year from now.

So you expect Gable to go pro?

Not looking good for USC next year

Mecca
01-08-2010, 03:53 PM
No I just don't think Gable is very good, he's the epitome of backup RB, he's like Monterrio Hardesty and in a backfield of NFL players Gable becomes like a 3rd down back.

Who will their HB be if Gable goes pro?

Mecca

Not looking good for USC next year

SC has like 10 RB's who are going to play in the NFL, losing a RB means jack Marc Tyler was a top 5 player his recruiting year and he's played about 3 plays a game so far.

Allen Bradford probably.

I'm talking about if Carroll goes to Seattle.

Mecca

Carroll isn't leaving lol, if he was going to leave he would have left for the 49ers job.

What about Marc Tyler? Will he start or Bradford?

Mecca
01-08-2010, 03:56 PM
It'll probably be some split of Bradford and Tyler, SC uses a bunch of backs and Havili is still there.

Seattle is a better job than the 49ers job. Carroll wouldn't be a good fit with the Yorks.

Carroll needs to stay in college coaching. If he went pro again it probably would not end well, again.

Money talks especially since its Paul Allen. Seattle would be a great job and its not like USC can't find someone someone good that wants to coach at USC.

And anyway SC has a couple of well regarded RB recruits coming in, that's really the last position to be worried about.

Generally speaking top recruits from Texas don't leave Texas, I can only think of a handful that went far away and 1 of them didn't workout very well...

But if you look at his top schools. None of them are Texas schools. The closest one is LSU.

Maybe he hates Mack Brown..

SC has pulled 2 players out of Texas, Michael Morgan who was a surprise commit and Emmanuel Moody who was basically a little bitch his entire time on the SC campus.

Except to go to OU. Stoops had signed the top player from Texas several times over the last couple of years, he sometimes gets #1 and 2 the same year.

I'd like Carrol to drag this out a bit then go to Seattle and Prater will decide to not come to USC and join his teammate Cooper in Lincoln. Thatd be sweet.

That's what I meant, a guy from Texas going to Oklahoma is not the same as trying to recruit them to LA.

Kyle Prater has been committed to SC for about 4 months now even with his family not really wanting him to go there.

A lot of Texas kids go to OU. And Vis-Versa.

Kind of like Kansas and Mizzou kids.

If Pete Carroll left you think he'd stay? He's not coming to Lincoln anyway but he does play on the same team as a very talented Corey Cooper who I was surprised USC didn't try to recruit.

I don't know why he'd leave, Carroll has the ultimate job. He's the football show in LA, he has a big contract, gets top recruits and they'll never fire him.

What more could you want?

Carroll doesn't seem like Osborne or Paterno maybe he wants to try and conquer the NFL.

Maybe he knows there's quite possibility that a major NCAA investigation is in the works and he wants to get far away from that. NFL can't punish him for shit he did in the NCAA.

If Rookie caps are coming and all this talent are coming out now this is only GREAT news for a team with a lot of early picks. The talent in the second and third rounds should be very good.

He got the '98 Patriots to the playoffs with Drew Bledsoe, Terry Glenn, Ben Coates, and Ted Johnson out with injuries. I watched them clinch a playoff berth by beating Steve Young and the 49ers with Scott Zolak at qb.
Bobby Grier was more of a problem with that organization than Carroll was. In 3 years Kevin Faulk and Robert Edwards were the only players Grier ever drafted that panned out.

This guy shouldn't worry about the rookie cap. He won't be a high enough draft pick to matter.

He might want to worry about a lockout. He may be worried about Pete leaving. And, he definitely won't get drafted if he doesn't get on the field or gets injured again.

Alright I'll take back that he "failed". But he was an extremely average NFL coach, and this is just a dumb move by Seattle to go and get him. They just fired another coach who shouldn't be an NFL head coach, and now they hire another guy who shouldn't be an NFL head coach? It's not smart.

A couple of other entries and one returning to school...

(10:00 AM): USC WR; ‘Horns safety enter draft.. Southern California junior WR Damian Williams and Texas redshirt sophomore safety Earl Thomas are the latest underclassmen to have announced they will be leaving school and entering the 2010 draft where both are projected to be mid-to-late first round picks.

Hogs QB confirms no draft this year ... Arkansas redshirt sophomore QB Ryan Mallett has announced that we will be passing on the 2010 NFL draft and returning to school for his junior season next fall.

The NFL is the only place he can go. If Herm coaches him, he'll be beat like a wet mule, e.g. LJ. He won't have any respect at USC. I'm getting a premonition about his career path following three RBs that went behind bars.

...that if the Washington HC becomes a candidate and accepts the USC job that Locker may opt for the draft. Stay tuned.
