I just rec'd a text from Gonzo. He is in Chicago, eating at Ditka's restaurant... and wouldn't you know it, in walks Mike.

As per Gonzo's quickie post in the "Random Thoughts" thread, he got to shake his hand, (and I guess he got to BS a little w/ him too).

Oh and Gonzo took this pic...

I asked him who would win in a fight between him and a tornado. He told me to shut my hole and eat.

Tell me you asked who would win the Super Bowl. Then you answered your own question with "da Bears".

What kinda sucks is that I was unable to get a pic with him. I thought it would be rude to stop his progress and I didn't want to act like one of "those guys" you know? I could tell that he probably wanted to get going. Some douchebag that was eating at the table next to me yelled, "Go Saints." I thought Mike was going to feed him his own liver.

He was drinking wine I think. he has his own for the restaurants. Each bottle has a cigar butt and some hair cream in it.

Yep... I had the Filet, Rare. Glenlivet Scotch, (the 18 year) and some shrimp.

It was damn good.

Get yourself The Macallan next time for Mr. Flopnuts. Also aged 18 years.

That was the 1st thing I said to him...

My meal was free after that.

Then he was all like, "Hey, you know that CoMo guy? He was in here a while back. I slipped out the back as soon as he walked in. I don't want any fail rubbing off on me, Go Mizzou!"

I bought him a beer and a stogie after that.

I used to live in Philo, IL...

Small ass town...town of 1000...famous for one thing...a place called "The Philo Tavern."

When the Bears had to play in Champaign, IL when they renovated Soldier Field...they had a preseason Monday Night Football game in Champaign and Ditka was on the call...I was 16 or 17 sitting in my room watching the game and on national TV...Ditka started raving about the prime rib sandwich at The Philo Tavern...

I was like...holy shit...

A Philo reference on ESPN is about as likely as Matt Cassel making the HOF...
