I watched this documentary the other night and very highly recommend it. This guy is a testament to human will power on a scale that's hard to describe. Martin Strel is literally one of the baddest dudes on the face of the earth.

Someone on here recently said their friend made that movie (was it you?).

Anyway, I'm definitely wanting to see it. Martin Strel was recently featured in Outside magazine. Both he and the film sounded fascinating.

There are a lot of things that can kill you in that river.

That man is amazing.

The article in Outside is fascinating. The dude's swam in just some disgusting rivers. He talks about one river he swam in (maybe in Africa... can't remember) where he was swimming past floating corpses. He's gotten all kinds of nasty infections and illnesses from his swims.

Shit he probably floats down the rivers with that body. How much swimming does he actually do drinking two bottles of wine a day?

Dude drinks 2 bottles of wine a day, even when he's swimming.

Sounds like the Ganges

I did a "sunrise cruise" on the Ganges once. It was me, my friend, our guide, and some 12 year-old child laborer who was rowing the dinghy. We saw a body float by.

The guide was telling us how cold the water was, and wanted us to stick our hand in it to see, but we refused. The water was that nasty. And then you'd see people brushing their teeth with it on the shore.

For some reason I don't doubt that a bit!!!!! Rain World Man
