View Full Version : Chiefs Anquan Boldin available for a third?

Beat writer Kent Somers expects the Cardinals to be "earnest in their efforts to trade" Anquan Boldin this offseason.

Their best offer last year was reportedly a third-round pick and another player, and Somers suspects that offer might be enough to do the trick this time around. Boldin, 29, has been injury prone as he enters the final year of his contract. The Cardinals are 6-2 without him over the past two years, and they're confident in Steve Breaston and Early Doucet replacing his production. Jan. 22 - 10:34 am et

Yeah, but at least this one wasn't hijacked by Mile High's personal interest in it for the Doncos.

It's an interesting proposition. His injury list and NFL age would need to be factored into the equation. However, one needs to consider that even while missing those eight games in the past two years, he still managed to gain over 1000 yards in each of those two seasons.

Chiefs do need a competent possession receiver and probably wouldn't find one of Bouldin's quality in the third round of this draft. However, there will be very good players available in the third round that they could use at a multitude of other positions that sorely need to be addressed. (Center, OL, LB, etc.) If there was an interest in a player swap of some sort, that would be a possibility, but I'd personally like to see them hold onto that third, and then go for a guy like AJ Green or Julius Jones in the 2011 draft (potentially).

No thanks. AB is a beast with very good hands but you can't help the team if you're always hurt. Plus this year's draft is a very good draft so we should be able to get a very talented player with our high third. If this club was a couple of players away from a Super Bowl run I would say yes but we're not so I'll lean the other way.

I would without a doubt give up a 3rd for Boldin. I'd even give up the Gonzalez trade #2 for Boldin. Bowe, Boldin, and Chambers would pretty much fix the WR this season, and KC can focus on other needs in the draft.

Boldin is an automatic 1,000 yard guy for Cassel, and still has several good years ahead of him being 29.

Yes I would and then re-sign chambers and try and get a 2nd for Dwayne Bowe.

"Injury-prone" Anquan Boldin > healthy Chiefs receivers

I'd give up a 3rd for him, but no more.

Flopnuts would rather sign Burleson.

he would be better right away than any receiver picked in round 1 or 2
so for a third it would be a great deal
