I know. But if Jason Marquis got a World Series ring in 2006 when the only reason he got one is because he wasn't allowed to pitch for the Cardinals in the post season, I figure Chase can get a Super Bowl ring for doing absolutely nothing. :D

I've been watching the replay of the Saints/Texans game on NFLN. Daniel seems to have cemented himself as the No. 1 backup, and has looked absolutely fantastic. He played the final three quarters, went 15-21 for 182 yards, with three touchdowns and one pick. Played with the first team offense in the second quarter, and they didn't miss a beat after Brees went out. :thumb:

I'm KU all the way, everyone knows that lol, but wow, Chase has been impressive. I wouldn't mind having him. I like his confidence. A lot of good players from college go to the NFL and they lose that confidence. He still plays with that same confidence in the NFL. It's impressive.

I was hoping that the chiefs would sign him last year. I know he's not a big guy but he's like an inch taller than Brees. How does a guy with that record in college go fall through the cracks of local KC scouts? I don't know. He was right in our front office's backyard. I don't get it.

I think what we're seeing with guys like Drew Brees, Aaron Rogers, possibly Alex Smith and Daniel, is that you have to be patient with these QBs that play is a system that isn't the standard pro set in college, give them time develop and find out if they have the pocket awareness to become successful.

If you expect too much too soon, you might not ever find out how good they could be.

Mizzou's style was anything but NFL style. We didn't even have a single short yardage package until last year. No power I, no goal line, nothing.

It's the most imbalanced offense I've seen.

The strides he's made are a testament to his work ethic (he was always a football rat) and his talent, which seems to have been overlooked.

Hell, Mizzou had all of their lineman take super wide splits to give Daniel throwing lanes, but to also act as a zone blocking system for the times that we would run, which were always trap plays out of the gun.

Report: Brees has strained left MCL

Posted on: September 29, 2010 12:58 pm
Edited on: September 29, 2010 3:26 pm

Posted by Will Brinson

The Saints (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/page/NO)' start to defending their championship has been auspicious at best, even with a 2-1 record. So the report coming out of New Orleans on Wednesday that Drew Brees (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/235197) has a strained left MCL can't be considered "good," and certainly not "well-timed."

According to our Saints Rapid Reporter Larry Holder (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-reports/post/14039492) , WIST-AM in New Orleans is reporting just that, though, "citing a source familiar with the situation."

The station is also reporting that "the plan" is for Brees to play against the Carolina Panthers (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/page/CAR) on Sunday, meaning that the reported injury can't be that serious, at least for now.

But the reason to freak out (if one were so inclined) and/or consider this problematic is that Brees is absolutely the key to the Saints success; that's not insider knowledge or anything that's not obvious, clearly.

However, Brees' role with the Saints is similar to Peyton Manning (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/12531)'s with the Colts (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/page/IND) -- if you take him out of the lineup, a potential Super Bowl champion suddenly becomes a middle-of-the-road contender that can easily be exposed.

UPDATE (3:22 p.m.): According to Rapid Reporter Larry Holder, (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-reports/team/NO) Brees wore a brace on his knee but that he took every snap in practice today and didn't appear on the injury report. Coach Sean Payton said the knee is sore but there's no specific injury.

The only asshole in here is the dumb fuck whose life is so empty he's resorted to trolling MU threads whilst his own team is the worst in the entire conference.

As far as "gotten further", you might want to check the conference standings and the final AP rankings, but that would require that you actually possess reasoning skills and reading comprehension, which given your state of origin, is somewhat akin to asking a lemur to perform a quadruple bypass with a coconut shell and his own hardon.

Oh there's no doubt about that. But there's also not much doubt that Chase Daniel choked routinely in big games against big teams. Hamas knows this (see his post about the '08 slide), but is loathe to admit it. Missouri could have been ever better than they were.

For Luv.

Your an idiot. And your even more of an idiot if you actually believe KU was better than MU in 07. But, I know you don't really believe that.

Oh. And lets look at both Daniel's and Reesing's "choke" years:

CD 2008: 4,335 yds, 72.9% completion (which broke the NCAA record, but McCoy broke it even more w/ 76.7 %), 39 TDs, 18 INT, 159.44 QB rating. 10 wins - 4 losses, Big 12 North Champs, Won bowl game.

Reesing 2009: 3,616 yds, 63.1%, 22 TD, 10 INT, 134.95 QB rating. 5 wins - 7 straight losses, no bowl game.

ROFL

Where's Reesing? Where's Daniel? Oh yeah, he's the backup to the Super Bowl MVP on the Super Bowl Saints.

The defense is what let MU down in 2008, not Daniel. He pressed bc of that terrible defense. Still won 10 games & Big 12 North Champs.

I never said that Daniel wasn't a better QB than Reesing (in fact, Reesing has nothing to do with this). I said he was a choker, who failed at the end of each of his last 2 seasons, which he did. Big difference.
