When we were out in '05 we stayed a couple nights in Colo Springs and it did seem kind of dumpy. Although every hotel I've ever stayed in in Denver has been dumpy as well, but the city itself is pretty nice.

If I was going to pick a metropolitan area to live in outside of Seattle based off of topography and vibe alone, I'd probably choose Denver.

I love the layout of certain parts of that town. Like where Coors Field is. That whole area is cool.

I've always thought Loveland would be a cool place to live. A few minutes drive and you're in the mountains and close enough to Ft. Collins and Denver that you have a ton of choices of things to do. I actually think there are jobs in Loveland, too. Well, there used to be. And they have a really nice lake.

BTW, I'm in Estes every summer. Avoid downtown on the weekends. Egad, it's a nightmare of Denverites, etc. that come up for the... shopping? traffic jam?... I'm not sure.

Lived there for a few years. I did love it, but if you're into skiing/snowboarding it's kind of the pits. Steamboat Springs is a haul on bad roads, or you can go all the way down to Denver and then up the I-70 corridor. Either way, access to the slopes is a pain. We ended up doing lots of backcountry up Poudre Canyon a lot instead, though.

Other than that, I loved Ft. Collins.

I wasn't gonna post anymore in this thread. But since you asked, I would have to say it depends on which part of the springs your from. In my case, I live in the southern part, I can feel the bombs everyday throughout my house from the AF, but in general I don't think it effects my community too much. If you go up to northern Springs you will find a very different bunch of people, all of whom I think have somehow influenced themselves off the AF and focus on the family. They are a little more stuck up in the northern end, like as if they are proud to be from this area LMAO. The worst part of the springs is probably the middle-western side. This is where you will find all your "gangstas" and mexicans who want to be black. Every normal person in the Springs knows not to go to the Wal-Mart on Platte ave unless they want to die.

The best culture in this area would be in Manitou Springs. The biggest stoner city in this region. But the people that live in Manitou are actually pretty decent people. Some of the girls are a little too natural if you know what I mean. They'll walk around barefoot with gowns on 24/7 and no bra. It's not a good thing.

Heh. I'm on Craigslist because I want something for practically nothing. But I won't attempt to haggle when somebody says firm. I don't have a single problem with asking somebody if they'll take less though - it's an online garage sale. Worst they can say is "no".

I will admit that if I could pick a CO city to live in, it would be Fort Collins rather than Denver. That's gotta be one of the coolest cities in the U.S., especially if you're a beer snob like I am.FT. Collins is indeed a cool city but they drive bat shit crazy there. I think all Coloradans are bat shit crazy behind the wheel. :cuss:
