Good. I cant wait to see him fail in a Bears uniform. The bears scream 8-8 team.

Chicago will be a 10-6 team. Nothing special. With Cutler at QB they are destined to fail anyway.

At least $40M in the first three years? Wow.

Who is Cutler throwing to? I really dont see them having a winning season. Peppers wont do shit in Chicago and Mad Martz will have Cutler throwing even more picks than he did last year.

Im sticking to 8-8 at best. It's Cutler we're talking about here. 8-8 is his best.

I agree.. the NFC north will be pretty good next year.. especially if Favre comes back. And i think the Lions will be a little better team next year as well

I wanted Peppers, but i'm glad we didn't go after him for that kind of dough. Have fun learning the new system in 2011 Julius. I hope you get 20 sacks this year in the 3-4 and then are forced back into a 4-3 with your new coach.

XOXO

The Lions better get a top notch LOT - Allen, Peppers and Matthews 6 times a year.

Julius just got paid, so if I'm Detroit, I'm not too concerned about him.

I just feel like they will be 10-6, maybe 9-7. But they won't go to the playoffs.

If I were a GM, all my contracts would be heavily incentive-laden. And no bullshit ones like "playing 75% of the snaps" or "making the Pro Bowl". F**k you, I'll pay you by quarterback sack, and if you strip the ball and we recover it then I'll double it. :D

Picking a TE (Pettigrew) and not Oher looks pretty terrible in hindsight. Backus is garbage.

Whats the total value of the deal?

Peppers was looking for at least $12 million a year in the early part of the contract. The agreement could be worth $40 million over the first three years.

When a few of us were arguing about how muh he would make SOMEONE claimed over and over that he would get more than Hayneswoth and I said he would get almost exactly what Demarcus Ware got:
10/26/2009: Signed a seven-year, $79 million contract. The deal contains $40 million guaranteed, including a $20 million signing bonus. 2009: $6.005 million, 2010: $7.8 million, 2011: $6.7 million, all guaranteed. 2012: $4.5 million with $500K workout bonus, 2013: $5.5 million with $500K workout bonus, 2014: $12.25 million, 2015: $13.75 million, 2016: Free Agent

Seems like they got the same guaranteed $$$, just waiting for the details.

Looks like the Boss Wins again.

It will look pretty bad if they grab Okung 2nd overall. Okung and Pettigrew instead of Oher and Suh..yikes :shake:

Well there goes the whole "Washington buying up everything" theory. Then again I guess it just saves them more money to sweep up the rest.

I think he'll fit in great on that Bears defense. If they could find a star receiver this offseason I think they have some potential to really compete with the Vikings and Packers next season. That division could be really fun to watch.
