Bo Marchionte, of NFL Draft Bible, reports Wayne State RB Joique Bell will have a private workout with the Kansas City Chiefs April 1.

Anybody know anything about him ?

And why does he have to work out on April fools day?

Well I gotta say I watched the whole highlight video and not once did he fumble.

His running style kinda reminds me of LJ.

He's a friggin touchdown machine.

That would be good as we need more touchdowns.

Great highlights! The kid seems beast.

I'm glad they chose a great song for the video and not some rap piece of garbage.

p.s.- I think he could fit golf balls in his nostrals.

This kid tore it up at Wayne St. and would be a fine pick for KC with one of their 5th rounders.

I'm not an advocate of getting a RB in the draft this year, a potential 2nd rounder falls to way lower rounds. But I noticed this guy during the combines. It's good to have some idea about him in case he's available in a lower round.

He looks good...seems to fit the right 53 profile bullshit so not surprised that we're targeting him. It looks like he can actually play though so that's a good thing.

Im curious to see how powerful and fast he looks against NFL level competition.

But, he looks like a Pro-style player in his highlight vid, gotta give him that.

As the only one who has watched this guy play: I think he'll go in the 5th. He'll be a solid NFL player and could start for some teams. His 40 time is unimpressive but he excelled at the drills that test quickness and explosiveness. My only concern with him is to see how his lateral quickness holds up at NFL game speed.

1.) You don't know anything about the level of competition that you disparage. 2.) You can question the level of competition, sure, but there's no way you can say that he looks like shit based on those highlights. 3.) I would say that you can't judge his NFL potential based on those highlights because that's all they are -- the superlative plays. If only there was a YouTube clip of Joique's 5 yard runs or 7 yard runs or 4 yard pass completions. The normals plays that really show the kind of player he is.

Can he play LT?

Yes. And Qb too. He can take the snap and then throw it to himself for a touchdown. But that only happens when he doesn't have to block for himself, which is rare. If you look at some of his game tape, you'll see he's so quick, he'll get to block on the 2nd level, then go back and take the hand off and hit the hole he just created for himself.

Yeah. That good.

Here's the ESPN "Insider" scoop on him....

** The cut and paste loses formatting though...

1 = Exceptional 2 = Above average 3 = Average 4 = Below average 5 = Marginal

Overall Football Traits
Production 1 "2005: Red shirt.2006: (11/11) 348 carries, 2,065 yards (5.9 avg.), 22 TD; 14 catches, 169 yards (12.1 avg.), 1 TD; 8 KOR, 228 yards (28.5 avg.)2007: (11/10) 289 carries, 1,427 yards (4.9 avg.), 25 TD; 22 catches, 230 yards (10.5 avg.), 3 TD; 3 for 5 passing, 1 TD, 4 KOR, 78 yards (19.5 avg.) 2008: (11/10) 218 carrries, 1,152 yards (5.3 avg.), 12 TD; 20 catches, 226 yards (11.3 avg.), 1 TD; 2 for 6 passing"

Height-Weight-Speed 3 Adequate height with good bulk for his frame but top-end speed is average at best.
Durability 1 Durability is a non-factor as he has yet to miss game action due to injury.

Intangibles 2 Has experience lining up at quarterback and receiver as well as running back. Can run the 'Wildcat' offense. Named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for 2007 Winter term.

Running Back specific Traits
Competitiveness 3 "Runs hard and lowers shoulders into defenders. Flashes a strong stiff arm. However, ran out of bounds after picking up just three yards on a third-and-4 play early in the second quarter of the 2009 Ferris State game. "

Vision/Patience Can exploit cutback lanes but is sometimes too patient and appears indecisive at times. Could do a better job of cutting up behind trapping guards.

Inside Runner 3 "Not enough of a downhill runner at this point. Makes too many cuts behind the line of scrimmage for a back his size. However, has good balance and can bounce off arm tackles and flashes the ability to pick up yards after contact. "

Outside Runner 4 Quick enough to turn the corner but lacks elite explosiveness and doesn't show a second gear when turning upfield. Not going to make many defenders miss when he gets into space.

Passing Game 3 Capable of throwing the ball downfield. Has experience lining up at receiver and can catch the ball in stride but going to have a difficult time separating from coverage at the NFL level. Rounds off routes and doesn't show great burst coming out of breaks.

Trait Scale 1 = Exceptional 2 = Above average 3 = Average 4 = Below average 5 = Marginal

Seems to have good vision and can be a little slippery when necessary.
His running style does remind me a bit of Larry Johnson.

Probably more football player than athlete though.

He's about the same guy, so I don't know what Bell gives you over Williams or why they'd consider him with Williams on the roster. Seems a bit redundant unless there is an issue with Williams that we don't know about, although Javarris was getting some minutes at the end of the year.

Yup. Same build, same speed. Javarris isn't as quick and has a lot of tread on his tires. And yeah, that quickness of Bell's is the difference between Bell being slated as a 5th round pick and Williams, who arguably should have been a UDFA.

Eh...I thought it was a pretty good 7th round pick. You never know where guys like that end up in free agency, so using a 7th rounder on Williams wasn't necessarily a waste of a pick. I think he's got the potential to be a 10-15 carry type of guy and give Charles a breather. Small school guy that just needs to acclimate to the speed and game at the NFL level. I certainly wouldn't look at using a 5th rounder on Bell when Williams is on the roster and got elevated to that second RB position in the last game or two of last season.

ModSocks

This guy may just end up being an UDFA and the Chiefs probably didn't have enough tape on him. I'd be surprised if they drafted him.

Wait. No I wouldn't. Nothing surprises me anymore.
