I had to renew my passport, and just got it back today. It's my second renewal, and it always makes me uneasy to be without my passport. I like knowing that in a pinch I can flee the country before my crime is discovered.

I hate losing the visa stamps in the old passport, too. When you go up to the passport-stamping people at the airport with a new passport, they think you're a n00b.

Have one now that expired 3 yrs ago. Had 2 for a while when in the military, one stating I was US Military and another that said I was just a US citizen. I have the paperwork to renew mine laying on the table as I type just in case granny (the war department) wants to go to Canada to see the new grandkid and take me along. Been a long time since I've been up north.
