At the NFL Annual Meeting earlier this week, Bears coach Lovie Smith announced that Israel Idonije would be moving to defensive end.

So where does that leave fellow defensive end Alex Brown? One source told the Chicago Tribune that the Bears want to deal the nine-year veteran, and if they can’t find a trading partner, the team will likely release him (http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0326-bears-chicago--20100325,0,2111914.story).

Brown is the probably the odd man out in Chicago after the Bears signed DE Julius Peppers and coaches raved publicly about the development of Mark Anderson.


Brown, 30, has 29.5 sacks over the last five seasons and is slated to make $5 million this season.

i'd rather sign ogunleye as a 3rd down rusher. Would make much more sense for him to go to a 43 team though.

They tendered anderson at a 2nd rd level and FS daniel manning at a 3rd in hopes of someone signing them because they are so short on picks. They want a vet safety and i'd offer page for either anderson or manning. They would be better off signing sharper though.

I just think Herm would praise Page and try to get Lovie to go for him. Gretz made a mention of Page not taking to the new staff very well on one of his blogs during last season, who knows if that changes with Crennel now in the picture.

He's a 43 DE, and doesn't look like he'd transition to a 34 OLB.

he's contract must not be very friendly or somebody would of given up something just to keep him off the market.
