Kiper: Seahawks won't take Clausen

Kiper cited multiple sources that Pete Carroll won't take the player he once tried to recruit to USC. That news isn't a shocker. When the Seahawks traded for Charlie Whitehurst, the chances of drafting Clausen went way down.

The Seahawks may not love Clausen, but Kiper does. While Kiper's foil Todd McShay gives Clausen a second round grade, Kiper says Clausen is a better prospect (http://www.ibabuzz.com/oaklandraiders/2010/04/07/kipers-projection-raiders-take-clausen/) than Sam Bradford.

"I do it for no other reason than how [Clausen] played, how he performed," Kiper said. "He was playing through torn ligaments in his toe, and a lot of people don't know that. People who don't like him can't give me a good reason why they don't."

Kiper projects Clausen to the Raiders at No. 8 in his latest mock draft.

The Seahawk drafturbators will be furious if they pass on Clausen because of Whitehurst.

Please God....let Clausen be KC's pick at #5.

I'm going to be a little upset if we pass on him unless we take Berry. If we should trade back up into the 1st to get Clausen, all would be forgiven though.

I watched quite a bit of Notre Dame football this season and came away very impressed with Clausen, so it will leave a sour taste in my mouth if they pass on him completely. I don't think any draft sites even think it is a possibility of him going to KC, so it will be very surprising if they do take him.

Everytime McShay opens his mouth, I get more and more excited about the fact that he hates Clausen.

McShay is absolutely awful. I swear, he just reads some draft guides, then gets pissed off at players and badmouths them. I can't imagine he has any real sources (sure doesn't seem like he does) and I've never once seen him offer any insight I hadn't already gleaned from here.

He's just a smile in a suit.

If the Raiders pick Jimmy it will be the
perfect example of a player going to the
wrong team/system/coaches ruining his
career. Where if he was drafted by the
Chiefs or Vikings IMO he could have a very
successful NFL career.

Kinda like if Montana would have went
Detroit.

Not real surprising to me.

There are 17 teams you could argue that would have no interest in him, because they already have a franchise QB, or at least think they have a franchise QB.

Detroit
Tampa
Miami
Giants
Titans
Steelers
Falcons
Texans
Patriots
Packers
Eagles
Ravens
Cowboys
Chargers
Jets
Colts
Saints

Titans
Patriots
Cowboys

I wouldn't count out any of these teams.

Oh, don't get me wrong. Some of them definitely could be argued.

But that list shows why only 16 teams attending makes more sense than NJ cares to admit.

i don't see the cowboys pulling the trigger ... titans either

the owner is convince that Vince Young only needs time and he isn't letting the team draft a young QB to screw with Young.

the Cowboys are wanting to win now and Romo is young

can never count the patriots out on anything but taking Clausen would piss Brady off.

Mr. Laz
04-09-2010, 12:59 PM
Seattle could take Clausen because they have two 1st round picks.

Buffalo,Cleveland definitely could

Oakland ... nope, clausen isn't flashy and they are still stinging from the Russell draft

Steelers might shock some people though if they are really pissed at Rapelessburger

cincy ... they got any Palmer replacement plans in action?

minnesota ... they could, although they are in win now mode

Denver ... nope, not after trading for Quinn

only a handful of teams will take him imo

If I remember right it was something around 29-30 teams. It really doesn't show anything though. Clausen wasn't coming in with injuries to his throwing shoulder. If anything....Clausen did was he was pretty much expected to do.....nothing.
