A user with 0 feedback wants me to ship an iPad to Denmark... Is the tracking reliable enough to where I won't get screwed if I send this?

You're joking, right?

I wouldn't send a user with 0 feedback a pack of Chiclets if they lived in the next town, never mind a friggin' iPad to Denmark.

Yeah I know. I realized while posting this if there's a question about it, I shouldn't do it.

When you first thought about asking here, that alone should have made your mind up for you.

1. Ask for a picture of him with a fish on his head.
2. Don't send him the iPad.
3. Post picture on CP.
4. ?????
5. Profit.

Or....get money in hand and then ship it. Just let him know that's the only way he's getting it.

He already sent me the money via PayPal. But if he says it never showed up and cancels, I'm still just as screwed.

probably should have insisted on some kind of money order or wire transaction. Something like what the e-mail phishing scammers use because it doesn't hit your account and there is no way to reverse the transaction.

Being from Europe with 0 feedback, he ought to understand why that would be necessary. Let him take all the risk of trusting you.

I wouldn't sell anything on ebay to anyone..ebay always sides with the buyer and their fees are way too damn high

Thats a little extreme. In my mind, ebay is a valuable resource for getting rid of garage sale junk. Something you might get rid of for 75 cents on your driveway might go for a few dollars above shipping online.

I would be less likely to sell something worth over $50 or so, unless it was something that had so little local demand that you only see a market on ebay.

As long as you go into every transaction thinking you have about a 1% chance of being screwed, your fine.

with registered shipping you can make it so its covered if its claimed to not show up. Also they have to sign for it to receive it and if nobody signs for it it gets shipped back to you. If you have proof of the shipment paypal will side with the seller especially if you make it hard for someone to file a lost claim. Also check UPS rates and conditions on international shipping.

DAMN! not bad on that gross amount. I couldn't imagine paying 8% in Final value fees. Then paypal takes another 4% if payed through that. They sure love you.

That's just GREAT! Now I gotta be wary of dodgy Danes as well as nefarious Nigerians!
