The Miami Dolphins (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/MIA) have reportedly placed WR Ted Ginn and QB Tyler Thigpen (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/19416/Tyler_Thigpen) on the trading block.

Armando Salguero of the Miami-Herald followed up a report from Jason La Canfora of NFL.com that Ginn was available and also mentions that "it's come to light" that Thigpen is available as well.

Why should this be interesting to the Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/KAN)?

The Chiefs, and specifically Pioli, like trading with people they know. Last year we saw trades with the Dolphins (Bill Parcells), Patriots (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/NEP) (Bill Belichick) and Falcons (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/ATL) (Thomas Dimitroff) -- all former associates of Mr. Pioli.

So anytime a Dolphins player is on the block, we should take notice.
Ginn plays receiver -- a perceived position of need for the Chiefs -- so that should draw your eye right there. He's also a deep threat and Chris Chambers (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/2500/Chris_Chambers), 32, is really the only deep threat the Chiefs have. In addition to that, Ginn also returns kicks -- another perceived area of need for the Chiefs.

Those are the reasons we should take notice.

Are the Chiefs interested?

My hunch says no on both accounts. Ginn just doesn't strike me as one of the right 53 (whatever that means).

The Chiefs of course originally traded Thigpen to the Dolphins so they're not eyeing him.

But, speaking of Thigpen -- Mr. Gailey, are you there?

Nah, they'll have Jason Campbell before the draft is over.

That would be a good move too, but Chan Gailey loves himself some Thigpen.

Good for Tyler that he made a couple of bucks and even a small splash in the NFL...not bad for a nobody from fuckstick University.
