View Full Version : Would you trade up for anyone not named Clausen?

I really like Hughes, but seems there is 0 chance he falls to #36.

Would you make a move for him if he falls past say 25? (I'm picking a number that would cost us our 3rd, not 2b.)

Would you trade up for (within about 10 spots):

Hughes
Kindle
Cody
Thomas (WR)
Anyone???

The Chiefs have so many holes that I would hate to lose any pick.

No. I would not trade up at all for Clausen. Berry with our 1. Whoever else falls to us with our 2a, 2b.

I wouldn't trade up for anyone but Clausen, and I'd use both R2 picks to do it, if necessary.

Berry & Clausen on Day 1 of the draft and it will be the best draft in KC history...

I pretty much agree with this.

The Chiefs are like a nympho at an orgy, they need to plug every hole.

And possibly something positive we can talk about for 7-10 years (and of course forever after if a championship is won).

Yeah, it would suck to take two franchise players, followed by some combination of:

R3: Ricky Sapp, Linval Joseph, Torell Troup, Donald Butler

R4: Eric Norwood, Matt Tennant, Andre Roberts, Jamar Chaney

R5: Sam Young, Crezdon Butler, Walter Thurmond III, George Selvie?, Chris Scott.

How about this scenario:

1. Take Berry with the #5.
2. Trade next year's #1 and a pick this year (2b or 3...whatever it takes) to get back into the first round to draft Clausen.
3. Take Cody with 2a.

If we like Clausen and would be looking at taking a QB in the first round next year anyway, might as well use that pick...

I don't disagree but keep in mind people said the same thing after we got Dorsey and Albert.

I wouldn't trade up....

I mean with how many people around here are hyped about JC, I guess I would be excited if we traded up and got him later and still got our #5 pick on someone else (like Berry or whoever we take).....

But it seems like we need all of our picks to me...so I doubt we will do it.

I haven't heard of any other trade up scenario that sounds even remotely appealing though TBH.

I guess teh answer to the OP is "no" then.

sure ... but not using both 2nd round picks for anyone but Clausen.

someone slides to the bottom of the 1st and you can trade up from our 2a pick 7-10 spots and grab them.

I don't know if he will slip into the 20's, but I might consider making a move on Graham.

i'd trade a 3rd for hughes or thomas

i don't see a pass rusher in later rounds that is his equivalent, the way there are several passable nt options...ditto for thomas

36 = 540
50 = 400
68 = 250

13 = 1150
17 = 950
21 = 800
28 = 660

If JC2 slips, those are our options for trading back into the first.

If Graham slips a bit, I wouldnt be totally opposed to trading up for him either.

I think most of those points charts are outdated and don't hold as much water as they used to.

Pioli has basically followed that value chart like the gospel in about every draft trade they ever made. Almost to the exact point.

If we move down, expect full value to do so.
