Anyone going to the Chiefs draft party? Or have gone? I won tickets from my work and am pretty excited! For those who have been, was it a good time?

I'd honestly rather watch the draft in the well from Silence of the Lambs than be at the Chiefs headquarters with all those ballwashers Thursday night.

It will be a circle-jerk orgy when the 5th selection is a LT.
"The left side is locked for 15 years!@!!"
Fuck that.

Fuck no, if I went to that and had my true reaction to a draft pick they'd probably escort me out.

It would honestly be like being in a room with 500 Bam-Bam's from NFL Sirius Satellite Radio.

It'd be great if our fans responded like Dolphins fans did to their bad pick, but our teams fans are idiots and cheer anything.

If you want to meet the Cheerleaders, hang out in the practice facility, get some autographs, its not a bad time.

I was there last year, it was a pretty good time until the Chiefs picked T-Jack.. Everyone kinda looked at each other like "Who tha Fux?"
Then we let loose a few boos and followed the rest of the pissed off fans to the parking lot.
So go, have a great time, bring cash as they charge full stadium prices for concessions, and party untill 2 mins before the Chiefs pick. Then save the heartache and leave before the announcement.

I'd go only if I had assurances that Hamas, Dane, Mecca, The Bad Guy, and OTWP would be in attendance, and if all five would be good and liquored up.

You're such a tough guy. You know that secretly you will be applauding their first pick in the draft.

If they ended up picking a guy like Haden or Berry, or even a stiff like Clausen, then what would you have to complain about until the next draft? Sure, you could go ballistic about spending a fifth rounder on a UDFA from Missouri, but it's not nearly as relevant as railing on the franchise for pissing away three of their first four picks on offensive line players (which I can easily see them doing this year).

Well, here's the deal... attending a Chiefs draft party is exactly the same as attending the free Roll-o-Skoal and Camaro test drive event. Same mullets, same cheerleaders, same Superfans, same meth-cooks.

You mean you're automatically assuming they won't pick a player from USC?

We didn't go last year because I had a race that day but we've gone the couple years prior. My son, who is now 13, always has a great time and so do I. Lots of Chiefs fans, cheerleaders, autographs, etc. We have a tradition of eating at Gates BBQ first. I not only paid for my tickets but am also taking the day off work and driving up from Iowa. Congrats on winning the free tickets. Have fun!
