Bill Belichick on Sirius apparently said that there seems to be consensus across the NFL on the top 8 players available in the draft. After that, it gets rather muddled, with some teams having a guy in the teens while other teams might have that guy closer to 30 or so.
I'm surprised that teams actually compare notes on their rankings of players. I kinda figured that would be a closely held secret, or that there would be so much smoke/misdirection that nobody could feel like they could trust what anyone else was saying. Guess not.
I do remember a video with Belichick talking with someone -- think it was Ozzie Newsome of the Ravens, where Ozzie was trying to trade with the Pats to move up. I think it might have even been the time they moved into the Pats #1 spot to pick that QB a few years ago. BB is saying "who you taking", and Ozzie seems to be dancing with him, and BB is like "WHO ARE YOU TAKING?!"
So I guess push come to shove alot of info does get traded/shared.
