I'm a UT fan and just wanted to say congrats on getting Eric Berry. He is an incredible person and football player. I tried to start a thread but it wouldn't let me for some reason. If I can I'll tell a good story about him.

No one hates the idea of drafting a S more than me. Hated the fucking idea.

But considering the talent that's fallen and landing Berry taking one more S with 2B could mean not having to draft another one for nearly a decade.

The second biggest draft day failure of the CP era was S (only following the QB blunders.)

Quick story...The UT managers always wash, clean, paint, and apply decals to the UT helmets before the games. They have a hierarchy where the most senior managers put on the decals and the freshest have to wash. EB said he wanted to give back to the guys that do so much for the players so he could often be found helping the managers prep the helmets before the games. And he always washed/scrubbed because he didn't want to jump their hierarchy.

Eric Berry is a great football player and even better person. You won't understand for a while, but you couldn't get a better guy.

Another EB story that's more recent....

You may or may not know, but his family hasn't been in the best financial shape recently. Both his parents lost jobs with the economy over the last 2 years. After EB hired an agent he got a little money early, like all top prospects do. He only purchased one big item. His dad always said that he wouldn't be a man until he could buy his own grits. So, EB had a brand new black Range Rover delivered to his mom with a huge box of grits in the passenger seat.
