Rob Rang of CBS Sports is reporting that Southern California OT Charles Brown, who was thought to have a chance to sneak into the latter stage of this year's opening round, may have dropped because of concerns about a bad back.

I think the Chiefs could surprise maybe and draft either Saffold or Brown.....

Don't do it. His first practice he will tear his acl when lucy pulls the ball when he's trying to kick it.

My original thought last night was I'd be happy with....

2a. Sergio Kindle
2b. Charles Brown

Kindle's knee issues worry me though....maybe Golden Tate & Brown.

He's steady, not spectacular. Good technique and moves well. A little undersized at 285-290, but he's a got a big frame at about 6'6", so he could definitely bulk up.

Something interesting to note is that he won the Morris Trophy for offensive linemen, which I think is unique to the Pac 10 in that it is awarded through a vote of starting defensive linemen. They also give one out to a defensive lineman, which is awarded by a vote of starting offensive lineman.

I say go Tate with 2a, if he's not there go Mays, if he's not there go Clausen, if he's not there either go Kindle

either way we should be getting 1st round talent in the 2nd round! nice

I say Clausen then Cody. Then Damian Williams.

I would have Charles Brown around my 10th favorite player still on the board. But considering that he's a blue collar guy and an amazing technician at his position, I'd wager he's close to #1 for Pioli at this point...

The only thing with Brown is he's not versatile, he's strictly a LT.

I predict Brown will be labeled a bust due to excessive bench-riding with a bad back.

We need to get a ready-to-play WR -- Tate or Williams -- because I don't believe either of them will be there when we pick at 50.

Get Clausen? You might as well tell Cassel that he'll be out of a Chiefs jersey at the end of the season since the only quality WR for him to throw to this year will yet again be Bowe, meaning his pass efficiency/rating numbers will be down with the writing all over the wall. Also, and probably more importantly, one of Pioli's first moves as the KC GM was bringing us his boy Matt over from NE, so how would he justify to Chiefs fans and Cassell that Clausen fills a vital gap when there are more urgent needs (like WR, LB, and NT, for example)?

We don't necessarily need a premium OT as our OL coaching staff and veterans Waters, Weigmann, and Lilja hopefully can train up a young OT to provide decent pass/run blocking with the fallback being that either our RB remains in the backfield to help the OT with his assigned DE or a quick pass play is called and executed.

Pioli likes Albert and O'C. He's not going to waste a 2 on a tackle when the second best ILB is on the board.

And Tate's a slot guy and another wasted pick.

I like Arrelious Benn if he's on the board at #36.
