Why is the bottom bowl of Arrowhead Orange?

I have always wondered this-I think it would look better/be more fitting if it was red like the top-anyone know why its orange?

It was probably the closest thing they could get to gold when they built the place.

one word...Lamar. It was the original design for both stadiums. The Royals changed, but Lamar wanted Arrowhead to stay the same.

Mojo's is half right for current Arrowhead. But the reason they have orange seats was bc in 1972 there wasn't enough red seats on the market.

Yes. There was a shortage of red seats during that time period. Remember the typing of seating in Arrowhead at that time was state of the art, most stadiums just had bleachers.

Interesting, I never knew this: Royals Stadium was very colorful with 40,793 seats, all facing second base and arranged in three tiers with maroon, gold and orange seats. Kauffman Stadium was renovated at the end of the 1998 season. The stadium renovation project included the addition of Crown Seats, Dugout Suites, new clubhouses and an exclusive restaurant and lounge known as the Crown Club. All of the orange seats throughout the stadium were replaced by blue seats.

That's weird, I don't remember the K having red seats. It's not like I ever paid that much attention to the place though.

Last year I went to a Cardinals-Royals game and all the seats where bright red.

The real story is they were shipped by mistake in 1972 and there wasn't enough time to get a shipment of Red seats, so they just installed the orange! Which still irritates me to this day, especially when I get that question from donkey fans every year!:cuss: Please, update the seats clarky!
