Thinking of traveling there this summer. Ive only been there once and stayed at the Venetian a few years back.

Where do you like to stay when you go there? What hotels would you recommend?

We stay at the Wynn, and have never been disappointed.

We stayed last August for $109/nt and got a $150 resort credit. There are deals to be found in the summer if you're willing to look for them.

I went in June one year, and it was about 108 degrees. Whew!

We stayed on Fremont at the Golden Nugget. Old school Vegas. It was cheaper, and we saw a little more of Vegas by driving to and from the Strip.

I recommend staying ON the strip and somewhere in the middle (Caesar's palace area). Fremont street is a little distance from the strip and it's not exactly a senic drive. I stayed at the MGM when I went and I liked it, but it was a little too far south for my liking. The hike was a bit far to do multiple times a day.

If you go during the week (Monday through Thursday) look for some awesome deals on rooms.

108 is nothing.

Try taking a 3 mile jog when it's 119. Let's just say the Mrs. isn't quite as stubborn after that incident. I tried telling her not to go, she said she'd be fine.

18 hours later, she was back among the living.

We laugh about it now, but damn, that was stupid.

Wynn is a really nice place. Just weny by there this past weekend. Top notch hotel and casino. One of the few places I visited this weekend that when I left there I did so with more than I walked in with $. :)

When I was a local, used to stay at the different Casinos, comped and the such from neighbors and friends for the experience.
Bellagio-top pick for me near mid strip, beautiful property. Wynn can't beat this his earlier perfection.
Luxor- Yeah, it's themed but being phased out, worth staying just to ride the "inclinators."
Paris- Another themed but cool property lots to see.
Mandalay Bay- nice near airport can ride to sister properties via Monorail.
Budget-
Bally's- attached to Paris cheaper and still mid strip for maximum Vegas exposure.
Riviera- Old Vegas charm, a bit crowded but remodeled.
Las Vegas Hilton- Great property, one block off strip still walking distance just cross the street go through Sahara or Riviera and TADA the Strip, or take the Monorail back down the strip. Have Fun.

Goin' there June 11th for WSOP $1500 buy in tournament. No idea where I'm going to stay yet. Stayed at Imperial Palace before, and The Flamingo another time. Kind of shitty, but who cares. You are going to be out and about most of the time.
